I think Scratch sees something of herself in Lizzy, which could be dangerous, because she seems to have some deep-seated self-loathing. Also, if Scratch perceives that Lizzy has rejected her good will somehow (such as if Lizzy denies any resemblance to Scratch and resents the comparison), she might be enraged and channel her "love" into hate. Hell hath no fury and all that.
