Can Zombies and Humans Live Together?

So, I am wondering if the zombie leader outside the tower is Randy:

1. Was he a zombie already when he and Michael met?
2. Did he helped Michael escape?
3. Does he retain knowledge of his former humanity?
4. Are the zombie's surrounding the Colony to attack or defend (is Ink on his way down)?
5. If there are "good" zombie leaders; could that even matter since left to their own devices they kill and turn humans.

Very interesting thoughts here. The "uneasy coexistence" between humans and zombies intrigues me to no end....

Given the descriptions of both Randy and the mystery zombie at the Colony as having long hair and beards, i think it's a pretty safe bet to assume that it is indeed Randy.

1. I highly doubt that Randy was already turned when he met Michael, if so, i would assume that Michaels attitude toward the zombies would be different, but he never shows any hesitation whatsoever to kill them when they are encountered. He also sounds very surprised when he encounters zombie Randy at the tower.
2. It seems to be implied that that is the case given what evidence we've been given, but until it is confirmed its just another guess.
3.It seems plausible, if only at the most basic level, but from what little we've seen of him he hasn't exactly been playing nice, so I would assume that the drives that come along with zombification are so strong as to overpower any remaining shreds of former humanity......
4. Im pretty sure that they are there to attack the Colony.
5. Whereas there may be multiple zombie factions, I think the one thing they all have in common is hostility to humans.
