I may have missed this, but was it ever brought to light how micheal escaped from the "Big One" in the water plant?
From what I recall in later episodes he just says he will talk about it later. But I cannot remember him ever discussing it.

The title is so misleading.

Q1:
There is too little information available offering a solid theory. But the few pieces available may give a lead or hunch. I think the 'most solid' theory - based on the opinions on this forum - is that Randy (and maybe even CJ's water-pumping station crew) got involved in the rescue of Michael. After the explosion the pumping station building was destroyed. We know that the Behemoth, which might have had a good chance to go for Michael, because Michael was not able to leave the building, chased Riley, Angel, and Datu. So Michael was "safe" to a certain degree, but also caught under the rubble of the building.
So it could be that the remaining figures of Randys group might have saved Michael. Or (!), that comes to my mind right now, the Behemoth accidentally opened a gap for Michael to get away, while the monstrosity followed the other three survivors; so Michael could have had a chance to flee. But I think this would have been too easy. And there needs to be a reason why Michael did neither write down things in his log nor tell anyone yet about his survival.
Which leads to your Q2:
I am not certain on this; but I guess pretty early Angel has accepted that rank does not matter anymore; he has accepted Michael as kind of a leader and also accepted that Michael likes to keep shit to himself. Angel asked Michael once what has happened at the pumping station or how Michael survived, but Michael refused to say anything and excused this with having other things to do right now; since then it was more important for Angel to have Michael alive again than asking how this was possible. So, in the end just a practical approach by Angel ...
Best wishes!

Hi there,
How would Saul and Burt have learned about Michael's accident? Only if Michael radioed them about his accident, they might have tried to rescue him. This never was mentioned on the show, so here everything is open for debate. I would say that Michael was somehow able to get away with his severely injured arm from the pumping station; and when he returned to the Tower, Saul, Burt and he tried to find Angel, Riley and Datu.
But here now is the tricky question: How could they know, their friends were at the arena? It was way after the pumping station that Riley, Datu and Angel were able to pinpoint the Arena as the zombo-hideout; how could Michael, Saul and Burt possible know about that particular place ... ???
The timeframe is foggy here. As Robzombie says: By the time they were sent out by CJ, they were still alive. Up from then on everything is speculation. How do Michael and Randy know each other? Did they meet as victims of a similar fate? Is there probably a much closer relation between both - like Randy and Michael being kind of reltated to each other (Michael always makes a big secret about his past or personal life; Randy a brother, or a comrade from military services)?
