Holy Crap! You know, I didn't even think of that until you guys just mentioned it, but it makes sense why Kalani would 'turn Turk' on the Mallers-- "That girl.... that was my Hannah" he said. If he meant 'that girl' being the redhead who was shot, and that was his daughter or something, then yeah-- no wonder he betrayed the Mallers and kamakazied them (this is all assuming that he was in with the Mallers in the first place, of course).
How many people did Kalani say got off the runway, was it two? If so then the red-head, stand-in could be a relative, close friend or lover that came along with him from Hawaii. The landing at the runway like Kalani said was loud, maybe even attracting attention from more than just the zoms. The Mallers could just have easily found them just after they escaped the runway or even days after. Either one or the other, Kalani striked me as a little cowardly early on, but soon his pair seemed to drop. I wouldn't be surprised if he hid(not gonna insult him for it, he could've been looking for information on who they were and if they were hostile) while a few armed men kidnapped the only other person he had. Thus forcing him to drive a bargain with the Mallers and become their eyes and ears to get her back. It would leave a reason for Chinwe to have a log on him, and keep the blame of ratting for the Mallers mostly off him(since I like him too).
