Plot

Alex waits early in the morning to join Puck and the others on their convoy, as Puck continues recounting the team's ongoing treasure hunt. Back in Westport, Puck, Muldoon, Carl, and Robbins orchestrate a plan to convince Michael to let them leave for several days, fabricating a cover story about searching for survivors.

Equipped with supplies from CJ, the team departs Westport. A sudden encounter with infected disrupts their journey, and they face another challenge: finding a helicopter Hugh claimed was parked nearby. After searching multiple structures, they locate the helicopter, but their discovery attracts infected from all directions. Burt and Riley arrive in Burt's heavily armored truck, "Inglorious Bastard," to rescue the group, providing enough cover to escape.

The chapter concludes with the helicopter flying to a location marked on the map, where they find a massive semi-truck with a locked security panel. As they enter the code written on the map, the truck's door begins to open, leaving the chapter on a suspenseful cliffhanger.
