The Fire Engine described in the story has characteristics that aren't shared by actual LA Fire Department trucks. It has a ladder capable of reaching the third story of the tower, it has a water gun, and it has an internal water tank. Standard LAFD Engines have the water gun and internal water tank, but not the ladder; ladder trucks don't have internal water tanks.
