Part 1
The episode opens with Burt scribbling in his journal, reflecting on recent events and bringing the story back to the moments shortly before he and Riley dropped Saul and Tanya off at Dunbar. The firehouse is in a flurry of activity, as Burt and Riley preparing to leave, packing supplies and tending to the animals, with a clear sense of urgency. The narrative establishes a connection to CJ's notes and a potential lead on a Maller outpost, acknowledging that the information is old but worth investigating. The episode then transitions to Riley joining Burt and Dog as they are about to embark on their new assignment. As Riley comes to meet them, they discuss the area they have planned to look at, and if there will be anyone still there. They reference a nearby storm and express that they want to leave before it really starts to pour.
As the duo departs, Burt and Riley arrive near a small neighborhood of barred up and secured houses that CJ's team from Dunbar had taken notes on. They discuss the fact that the area seems long abandoned. Burt's attention is drawn to a greenhouse in the distance, piquing his interest. Displaying their practiced teamwork, Burt and Riley stealthily navigate around the houses, prioritizing concealment over speed, to avoid being spotted by any potential Mallers who may still inhabit the area. Burt eventually selects a seemingly abandoned house to serve as their observation point, situated across the street from the greenhouse to provide a clear view of their objective. As Riley goes first and clears the building, and Burt follows, they start setting up the location. Once inside, Riley establishes a video telescope on a tripod in one of the rooms. Burt states his reasons for choosing this particular location, as Riley raises questions about it. With their covert operation now underway, Burt and Riley begin scoping out the area with the telescope. They make several discoveries, like wired up doors, that convince Burt that the area still may be used as a safehouse for mallers. Back in the room, Riley shows clear signs of anxiety and starts to doubt that anyone is still around. Burt, relying on his experience, convinces her to be patient and wait overnight for possible visitors. Despite his reassurances, Riley continues to be despondent, and signs of a sadness that threatens to derail their mission.
Part 2
Burt and Riley arrive near the potential Maller outpost, a block away from Sunset. In a voiceover, Burt explains their cautious approach, parking a distance away to avoid detection and noting that CJ's team had spotted a couple Mallers there previously. Burt had been hoping that whoever they saw never caught on. He focuses on a particular residential street, noting that the houses have bars on the windows and doors. He points out one green house with makeshift barbed wire. In a whisper, Riley confirms that it is the house Burt wants to enter. Burt takes out his drill to remove the lock. Riley volunteers to enter first with her bow. After Riley confirms that the house is clear, Burt enters. Finding the first floor empty, Burt directs her to go upstairs. Riley confirms the upstairs is also clear. They move into one of the rooms where Riley starts setting up her video telescope, making it so they can sit back from the window and use electronics to look at the target. Burt explains that they have set up look out locations like this before, but have never followed this hard of a lead. Riley is able to use her telescope to look at the target house and while looking at the house, and alley they discuss what makes Burt suspect this particular place. As they look at the house Riley questions the safety of the location. Burt explains that he believes this particular location, while small, is good because of its proximity to major roads and two ways out of the street. After a long pause Riley admits to not knowing how she felt with all that was going on and what had happened. Burt explains that they will get through it, and continue to work together.
Part 3
They take a moment, then start to work, looking into the windows to gather Intel on the location. As they start to look at the target, Riley finds evidence of barbed wire surrounding the house, and with the telescope is able to see the wood grain through the curtains of the house. When Burt asks, Riley confirms that the curtains are on the inside of the window. Burt also explains that the house isn't safe looking. Riley is doubtful and asks to read CJ's notes again. After reading, she gives the notes back. Burt states that they must have patience. Just as the rain starts to fall harder, Burt explains how he thinks they have the advantage due to their ability to see better in the rain. Riley then admits that there's something she is worried about. Finally admitting that she is worried about the recent events and losses. Riley explains that she knows Burt is there to support her, but it's not as easy for him. As Riley explains why the losses are hitting her so hard, Burt reveals that he has been paying attention to her, and knows what she's going through. Riley admits it feels good to finally talk about all the things that have been going on. But after a pause, Burt admits that its time to work.

Burt explains that the man is not their girl. The figure is seen fiddling with a key inside a drain pipe. He retrieves the key and enters the house. As the figure walks through the house Riley pans up to see which room he travels to. As the figure moves up stairs, Burt reiterates to tilt the telescope up.
