A recent episode of the Mythbusters is worth bringing this idea back to the top, if for nothing else other than the Lolz:



It's super effective!!

Granted, it's a vastly different world in the show now, versus the point in time some nearly two years ago when I first posted the idea... but hey, the idea apparently does have a bit of merit to it.
