Considering his relation to the pipe-bombs and therefore assuming that he might have some skills in chemistry, I could also think of him being a expert-drug-producer.

Amen to that! It's been quite awhile since I was once stationed in Bitburg, Germany, during my military days. Perhaps the most memorable two and a half years of my life! We often zipped up to Aachen or Liege to party... Really good times, I'll tell ya...
