I started listening a second time, and got depressed being reminded Angel was dead. He went out like a Gangsta. A couple points I noticed in the re listen. After the second war scratch said there he is, I found what I looking for. I would assume that the “Kalani's still alive†theories would fall apart. Also CupCakeZombie mentioned it first, but Puck said, “we've checked infected blood once, but there's no difference we've been able to tellâ€. I'm not sure what that means, but it seems significant to me.

Burt was not exactly legit, remember the weapons, explosives and silencer(s)... would not be surprising if he would find some former customers among the Mallers.

hello.... this is my first post so bare with me.... i'm not usually one to be on forums but this story has got under my skin so i couldn't stay away... there have been a few things said in this thread that i want to comment on: first... withe regards to Angel's possible criminal past. Any trouble he may have gotten into with the law as a minor would not have come up in a backround check as the records could have been sealed (also, during the recruiting push for Iraq, the military relaxed many of the rules regarding accepting applicants with non-violent criminal records). second...the theory that blood is not the carrier of infection...what about Tommy?

    This can mean two things:
    - They can't find/detect what is in the blood that causes the turn
    - There is nothing in the blood to detect.
Because they mentioned autopsy we know that there must be some structural changes to the body (what sort?), but it is interesting that they can't find anything in the blood.
The first is most likely, for example, current HIV medications can reduce the virus circulating in the blood to levels where it is undetectable, but if the second is true then blood transmission might not be possible.
How have the people turned that we have seen so far? Riley and Pegs said in Chapter 1 that they only saw people smash into each other. Otherwise it has mostly been bites which lends itself to being caused by saliva rather then blood.
I've always thought of the infection as something like mutated rabies. From what I understand, the only way to test an animal suspected of having rabies is to kill it and examine the brain. So, maybe that would also be the case with the zombies. Also along those lines, I believe anyone who works with animals (like veterinarians) get rabies vaccinations. That might explain Tanya immunity and if Saul had helped her, it would explain his as well.

A better death? How about a heart attack while banging Riley?
At least, that's how I want to go, heart attack while getting lucky.

The brain exam is the definitive answer for diagnosing rabies in animals. In humans the victim goes through a number of tests including hair folicles, serum, spinal fluid and skin biopsy tests. I know that veterinarians are fairly well versed on rabies as they vaccinate animals all the time and have to answer questions from clients about the disease. I doubt regular human doctors would know much about it as it is rare in humans these days. I'm not disparaging doctors by the way they are overloaded and why would they keep current on something they might never see.
