Just might be an aside, but Victor reminds Saul that the Mallers were from an all male prison so she ( CJ ) wasn't one of them, in chapter 26. Granted, they do have a few days to discuss stuff, but it is strange that Victor would be the one reminding Saul that it was an all male prison.

Maybe Saul was confused as to whether CJ was a man or a woman, in regards to the all male prison comment. Saul wasn't sure CJ was a woman when they found her creeping around collecting the fruit. It wasn't until much later Saul found out that he was beaten up by a woman.

Could be, but I am pretty sure Victor throws back the hood and even says, something like his Asian chick just kicked your ass. I agree there is some initial confusion, but by the time victor says it I am pretty sure there is no doubt.

There was no confusion. Saul simply assumed this person to be male, especially after a pretty good scrap and almost getting his head blown off. As Grognaurd pointed out, it becomes obvious after Victor takes her hood off. Saul and Victor alike don't immediately make the connection that she's not likely a Maller until Victor remembers that the prison was an all male prison, then it's an 'ah-ha of course' moment. There's not really anything strange about not remembering a slight detail when all this shit happens with someone they just met. It's a credit to Victor that he remembered it at all, IMHO.

Well, the trick is that Victor realizes that the prisoners are from Eastern Bay and is sure they would no way in hell would have a woman working with them. We never observe a sit down chat where Victor gets a full download of information. It could have happened. But, I remember Victor asking who are these mallers? I think he gets an answer something like a bunch of escaped Prisoners. Like I said, a lot can happen behind the scenes that we do not hear, but on the other hand, victor really jumps to a quick conclusion CJ is not with the mallers.
