Yeah, servercraft hosts their own servers so they're up 99.99% of the time. I know a lot of us are scattered across the globe so it would be pretty impractical to have someone host it all the time. Right now we have 6 - 8 interested in the server, so we can go with the 15 a month, which is a 512 MB of ram server, with a recommended 1 - 8 players. 2 bucks a piece for that (per month mind you) isn't expensive at all. The next step up is the 30 a month server, with 1 GB of ram, recommended 1 - 16 players.

yeah sounds do-able, but how would we be able to put our money in seprately?

You could set up a paypall account, and have everyone donate their share to it.

Note: there's no way we can fully guarantee that the person who'd control the account doesn't violate your trust.
I don't expect this to happen, but remember that it's everyones own responsibility.

Well if StepLaugh, cPT.cAPSLOCK, or I are in control of the PayPal account I'd say your money if pretty well safe. We are moderators / admins, and a level of trust / accountability should come with that.

Any volunteers for setting up the account? I'll nominate myself :p. Or are we still undecided on servercraft?

I prefer not to. I just don't want the hassle of making sure everyone chipped in, and so forth.
Also, I tend to play singleplayer (because of the terrible minecart lag in multiplayer) so I won't be contributing.

Would love to do something like this! I don't know if it's doable, but I've been playing on a multiworld server that's donate based. Could try to convince them to set up a We're Alive world?

Ohh guys, I forgot about this! I will talk to my friend who set a server up for me and see what he can do. Otherwise I would be happy to pay for something like servercraft. I will get back to you guys on this soon!
