I wonder if this is any relation to this: http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_t3#...yby-friday.cnn
Entirely possible, bro. The end is really fucking nigh.
Eerie if you think about the parallel they draw with the Tunguska explosion.
That asteroid was flying closer than a lot of satellites...creepy.
I'll have my CB on channel 34
I think it's already gone through.
it goes through tomorrow i think.
that video finally loaded, crazy seeing that stuff.
Days like this I miss Art Bell. He would have been all over this.

Crazy stuff. Heard about this on the drive in to work this morning. The video is pretty amazing, especially how it lit up so brightly to create shadows like that and then overwhelm some of the cameras.
Aside from the damage to the zinc plant and the smashed windows, has anyone checked the ground for a series of deep cracks?
They said that thing was cruising at 19 miles per second...holy crap
Scary. Whats worse is that if a meteor was going to hit the earth with enough force we wouldn't be told.
One hit in russia a few years back and flattened an area of forest the size of a small town.
I wonder how big and/or how fast they have to be going to be picked up or noticed... If I recall correctly, there are several factors that come into play as to whether or not a meteor will burn up in the atmosphere or make it to the ground (in one or more pieces). It's a combination of speed, size, mass, and angle of incidence (I think). But if it's going to fast or is too small, then it might not be noticed but still have the right combo of attributes to hit the ground somewhere.
I doubt that the grid/net can catch 'em all at this point - but it is pretty damn good...
Tunguska part 2.
Nah, the Russians know how to deal with situations that are far more worse than a meteor impact.

The trick is to keep smiling.
The German leading website for news-services, Spiegel Online, provides a 'weird' tool on its website. With this tool you may choose the size of an asteroide and its travelling speed. On the map of Germany or Germany's Capital Berlin you then see what area would be destroyed by the asteroid:

Enjoy this tool for apocalypse-enthusiasts ...
All the best!

Yeah, the "high-quality" website spiegel.de. :-S
I can't provide a source as I honestly can't remember where I heard it but I'm pretty sure some space organisation has said that they won't tell us if one's coming that might send us hurtling toward extinction.
Not much point really. Whatcha gunna do?

This is the guy who will tell us. Fuck NASA.
