Like a lot of you guys, I wasn't too impressed with Halo 4. I really do dislike how the armor looks. The shoulder armor alone is so off-putting, that I limit myself to choices that don't look so out of place. And I really hate that I see everyone's spandex, too. I'm maxed out on the multiplayer level (SR-130) and I don't know if any experience I earn will carry over if 343 decides to drop additional levels to go after, but I seriously doubt it (I did a weekly challenge worth 5K + of experience and saw only 500 of it go to my SR-110 rank. The rest did NOT carry over. That should give you some context to my griping.)
I popped Borderlands 2 in after the Big Game Hunt downloaded. I need to drop out of True Vault Hunter mode and play it in regular mode. The first couple of enemies were kicking my ass, especially when their war chief kept leveling them up.
I ran back into Unbound Saga to grab the last two cheevos I needed from that thing.
I played the heck out of Magic 2013.
But right now, between plopping in Dance Central 3 sesssions, I decided I needed to play Supreme Commander 2 once I finished Bionic Commando. Don't play Bionic Commando; it's not bad, but EVERY Spider-Man game ever is better than this thing. And don't get me started on the story...

sorry, got a little eager beaver waiting for this one.
Guild Wars 2, a great game. Even better when played with friends. EVEN even better when played with your girlfriend ^^
i'm currently playing Red Faction Armageddon, Resident Evil 6 Dead Space 3.
After having just beaten Darksiders, and Halo 4
and i have the entire Alan Wake Franchise (on sale on steam for 10 bucks right now) and Deus Ex Human Revolution in the chamber waiting for me.
and as for multiplayer i do Battlefield 3 (Premium), Chivalry, Natural Selection 2,The War Z and League of Legends
and for the chamber in the further back catalog is Mass effect 1 (Insanity playthrough) Mass Effect 2 (Insanity playthrough) Mass effect 3 (insanity playthrough + all the DLC) and Fallout 3's DLC
Finished playing Supreme Commander 2. If you are at all familiar with how to play ANY real time strategy game on a console, you can beat this on the "hard" difficulty. Still fun as all heck, though. But I didn't care for the storyline.
Trudging through that Hammerlock DLC for Borderlands 2. For some reason, Borderlands 2 lost its spark with me recently. Kind of like Halo 4.
Tried to play Alone in the Dark. Tried, but the game gave me a dirty disc error and when I checked it, I didn't see any prints or scratches. guess I wasn't meant to play it.
So, I have about two weeks left before I head to Germany for a month, and I'm still trying to clear out my backlog. I won't touch Skyrim until I get back...
Maybe tonight, I'll figure out if I want to play Sands of Time or not.
DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD
SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE
THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
and i was screaming that the whole way home.
I enjoyed what I played of gears 1's multiplayer but it didn't overwhelm me. As for the best game ever, you have the right to an opinion I suppose.
I will respect your right to be wrong.
Also I'm still playing Battlefield 3. Gave up on the campaign like two missions in (it sucks so hard in comparison to BadCompany 2's campaign) but the multiplayer is fun.
Over all I reckon BadComany 2 is a better game but since nobody is online anymore it looks like I'm stuck with this for the moment.
Also the crossbow is surprisingly deadly on hardcore, just recently acquired my first service star.
Restarted the original Metal Gear Solid for PS1...those pixels never looked so beautiful!
I don't know what it s about cross bow thats so satisfying but I'm already half way to the next service star.
Its really fun to kill snipers with. And taking out a tank with explosive bolt has to be one of my proudest moments in game.
Although my preferred way to kill snipers is to walk up behind them with magnum aim at their head and wait for them to realise your there.
Then Pull the trigger.
Another thought on Battlefield, they've fixed snipers. It appears bolt action rifles are the only one-hit-kill rifles. BBC2 was so frustrating on hardcore due to snipzorz.
my proudest moment was playing as an engineer, dancing through a mortar strike, then through an artilery barrage (or whatever the soflam calls in, not sure what it's called) diving off the roof of a building, and smacking a tank with my smaw from the air and blowing it up. i was screaming into the mic the whole time. when i landed, i had zero health until my squad mate spawned and healed me. it was like some james bond/mission impossible moment. that's what i loved about bfbc2, some of the epic moments, like cruising in a tank on heavy metal and sniping a helo with the main cannon, or dancing detween bullets and behind buildings to take out two squads with your buddy and claiming a spawn point, or mortaring a helo that's trying to road kill you on the side of a mountain. i died, but i took that a-hole with me. i need to get back into bf3 so i can have more big moments.
I never took to the engineer class in BfBc2. Support/ recon were always my go to classes.
Unfortunately I never bought the Vietnam expansion. It was supposed to be good fun but at the time I didn't have the money.
it was, meh. engineer was my go to class. still is really, that's always the first one i max out. recon has always been the bane of my existence, but i never got into the support class in bf3. i was all over that medic classs in bfbc2 though, i'd get the highest score just running around picking people up.
I'm still a support guy, because I love the hell out of my M60. But I'm flexible based off of how the game is going. If I need to be an engineer, so be it. Same with sniper, but you can bet a resupply's worth of ammo that I will pack the "hog" when given a chance.
Medic is prob my favourite class to play. After I'd unlocked everything I'd just role with that and the M14 rifle. Semi Auto rifles are just so satisfying to me.
one of my biggest disappointments with B3 is the limited nature of the all kit unlock-able weapons.
Shotguns are cool (870MCS is the gun I have most kills with in the game) and the SMG's are ok but there is nothing with a decent range thats not locked to a particular class.
Moving the medic duty over to assault seems like a mistake to me. I have zero motivation to play support now.
LMG's are only medium range, hugely inaccurate without bipod and have next to zero stopping power at anything over than close range.
Mortar is cool i suppose but re-supplying is dull and it feels as if your making very little contribution to the team to earn all those points.
I've tried this but tbh i get more with SKS/ QBU (4x sight, silenced, foregrip). I'm playing Rush BTW (just for clarity), its the only way to play battlefield.
Suppression isn't something that interests me. Any Bozo can set up a bipod and spray down a corridor for points. Also I'm OCD about keeping my KD above 1.
And reloading. After an engagement with LMG I'm constantly aware that I don't have a full clip. This will nag at me for the next 30-40 seconds until I give in and reload.
Thats usually when the enemy pops up.
This doesn't come under the description but I have a documentary series I'd like to recommend.
A Life Well Wasted by Robert Ashley is a really great serious of podcast documentaries about the games press, fans and a whole range of other related topics.
They are edited together using music from the creators band "I come to Shanghai". Production quality is really brilliant, second only to WA.
Take that as you want. Just trying to share something thats really great and FREE through Itunes.
Resident Evil 6 and the latest Halo.
I like RE 6 alot so far, the multiple stories are a nice touch. Right now i'm playing through Ada's story line. Halo is just..eh. Never been a big Halo fan, but my wife likes it.
Since I don't have my xbox in Germany, I'm playing android games... Empire Defense II is played a lot. Of course, I did bring my DS, so I'm funneling through replays of the Advance Wars series for some kicks.
Took a break from Halo in the last month, need to go back and finish the last 2 episodes of Spartan Ops. Currently playing a classic in Dynasty Warriors 7 and the new Naruto game. After both, going back to halo, madden (get the last few online achievements), and start Anarchy Reigns.
I was NOT happy with the storyline for Spartan Ops. And I feel like they cheapened the second half of the 1st season by upping the difficulty to legendary and tossing in way too many elites to make the game any fun for online play. But I did get a ton of XP and maxed out my level, but I don't think it was worth it.
I'm currently forced to take a month long hiatus from Halo (and anything Xbox) until the beginning of April.
I have to be in disagreement: I thought the entirety of Spartan Ops season one was excellent, and upping the difficulty to Legendary made it feel like it wasn't a complete cakewalk. I mean, come on, Heroic (or anything below) with four people on a team isn't even fair, unless they're all first time players or something. And I'm fine with Elites as long as I don't have to fight the goddam Prometheans; I prefer Covenant combat any day.
Also, Bioshock Infinite is in six days and I'm starting to shake from anticipation.
I thought the whole concept and storyline was fairly original and interesting in a way. Though I agree on the gameplay of it, I felt it was a bit repetitive and long on some parts. But it's easy to get through especially on Legendary since you can respawn over and over until you finish the mission as compared to story mode, it just meant I died a decent amount of times (7-15 times a mission going solo). But with Halo, it's all about multiplayer. It's what most people get it for.
Don't get me wrong; I'd rather fight Covenant than the Promotheans as well, but it felt cheap to bump the difficulty to legendary and set a high elite every five feet in some of the sections. Especially in cooridors. Yes, I respawned a lot, and that alone took away a fluid playing experience for me. It didn't help that I had people dropping out when I played too. I think I only had a full 4 party Spartan Ops team about half the time after January. Also, as for the plot, the biggest problem I had was what they did with Dr. Halsey at the end. I've never read the books, but what she did and said just goes against my grain... And Roland was annoying sometimes.
Multiplayer is fun, but... yeah, I'm going to leave that alone for now.
The Walking Dead game........it sucks....
Ah yah, I can see where you're coming from. I had lots of connection issues as well... It was so bad that I looked it up on the Internet and found out that they use a different server type for Spops than for Wargames. The way it was explained made sense for the different game type, but they really need to find a way to overcome the problem of one person's shit connection making the game slow for everyone. I think they should group people by connection type and not pair someone with a fast connection with someone who has a laggy one.
As for Halsey's choices... I can see her doing it, having read the books, especially after tensions between Elites and Humans have calmed a bit, so it's more like one human faction betraying another than betraying your entire species.
Man, I sure hope you're talking about Survival Instinct, because Telltale's game was one of the best games of last year.
its the telltale games one. I'm through the first episode, and so so far its kinda boring to me...I like having a changing story based on what I say and do, but it feels like so far there is no real game play...
Hi there,
today I finished playing "The Book of the Unwritten Tales" - a very nice and very well done adventure in the style of all thos Lucas Games ...
And currently I am involved in, you know ... There was this awesome 2.49 bucks-bargain on steam for "Far Cry 2" ... Yes, I dumb shit and time in that game ...
And on my Android I play "Elder Sign: Omens" ...
All the best!
Liam
So did I. It was the whole multiple outcomes and how what you did and said affected gameplay. I like games like that. The story does pick up as you get further in in the later episodes.
Same here! I was hooked from the start! The promise of having a new episode every month didnt quite make it, but I kinda liked it that way.. Everytime I was really looking forward for all new episodes and reading on the Teltale forum about possible plot twists. Growing up with playing a lot of adventure games I totally didn't miss the lack of action. But the best thing of the game was the Character development, every character had his own story, and at the end I had the feeling I really knew them. Cant wait for Season 2!
Btw for the old timers over here like me.. Check this out, its a all new zombie game with really, but really retro grapics! It's on steam for 3,99. Also availble on android and Iphone/Ios
