Dude, I totally addressed the other room just 1 page back. I think they were making various creatures there, including behemoths. Didn't they mention the door frame was all jacked up, like something large had gone through?

Something to consider. It is entirely possible that Ink isn't dead at all. Though I must admit I've been far too focused on the Mallers to pay much attention to the other major threat to the Residents. Assuming of course that Ink is the man in the pinstriped suit. After all, that fucker took two in the chest, jumped up and buggered in Chapter 11.1 (09:28). I think it is relatively safe to assume that the individual in the suit is quite dead. If not... there's a whole new kettle of fish to explore.
@hero
Reading>me bro..my bad. I don't like the building a better monster idea...but its fully possible
@osiris
Perhaps he isn't...maybe the zoms were the experiment, and he "got it right" on himself...hmm
I don't think he's the one behind all of this. Something doesn't sit well with the timing, let alone how he could have pulled it off. He's an opportunistic creature of chaos and undoubtedly a willing participant in the armageddon... as for pioneering any of the creatures... too hard to say. I'm inclined to think 'No' but I have been wrong before.
I like to think pinstripe wears the snazzy suit because he dressed up for his court date, or am I way behind and that has already been assumed. Perhaps skittles at the mental hospital is a bit too convenient, but he obviously is supposed to be in one. It's not hard to place him at the super secret hidden asylum at the hospital. I totally think the bed surrounded by needles had something to do with zombie making, but who knows, maybe ink is a junkie and viscera is his dragon...Sorry, been reading Crossed...
I have too many damn theories about him floating around. Here's what I'm kind getting at...entirely made-up speculation but,
What if he is just a cunning opportunist, going out and capturing a few zoms, then kidnapping a few survivors and "experimenting" finding different combinations of "virus" and drugs to create the things we have been seeing...work in progress, but the direction I'm thinking in..
The one with the suit stole it from Paul, a former Resident of the Tower until he was killed in Chapter 11. But I like how you think!
Where'd he get the virus from? Of course, this is speculative and there is no proof whatsoever that there is a virus.
Bad wording on my part....virus=zombie blood/fluids...;)
Which brings us right back to Ground Zero. There is something far, far greater than Ink, The One With The Markings or Saul's Mom behind all of this. There is something decidedly government about all of this, which leads me to push the weights toward the 'military weaponized virus' end of the scales as a cause.
Ok I've got to throw in my two cents on Skittles. Personally I think Skittles was a regular guy who has seen some horrible things since the outbreak that have driven him batshit crazy.
I don't think The Man in the Pinstriped suit stole Paul's get up. If he had, Paul's body would have been naked in the hallway. That probably would have been a tip off/worked against the convenient ruse our zombie pimp found himself in.
Alright, I'm goin for it...
we don't gave an exact amount of time "ink" was in the tower. Perhaps as he was eating Pauls face and head, he noticed Paul was quite the fashionable guy. So he wandered around a bit til he found a nice suit to wear...which happened to be one of pauls(that dude loved his suits)..when the group got back and found him pounding on the door...he wasn't trying to get at pegs and the rest, he was simply looking for a pair of loafers that matched his new suit better...
;)
I mentioned something about this a while back. It being a secret leads you to think that maybe some testing was done here on mental patients, making you think what if this is where it all started. But then you think well what is ground zero then? and then you get confused. I will pardon you though because you asked so politely :)
I agree with this theory, but I also think he was from the other tower. Say Skittles is an ordinary guy, doing his jobs and stuff. maybe he bups into new guy Kalani and says hi once. When everything goes to hell, he gets out and does some crazy stuff just to survive. He says he has hidden in a trash can before. If thats just one thing hes been up to over a few weeks, he would probably have gone crazy. Also is it not possible that he was a mechanic before the z-day began, explaining why he can fix cars so quickly? However, Kalani says he doesn't recognise him. I reckon this could just be because Kalani is looking down on Skittles and doesn't want to associate himself with that someone who he thinks is a bit weird. I mean, Angel does it to Datu in chapter 1.
Another point. Kalani says that once the other tower had been breached, "the one with the markings"(we arent entirely sure thats who it was) called other zombies in. Why didn't he do it with the tower? Curious...
Also this episode Angel recapped back to an old episode (rescuing Burt). Thats four references back to Angel's past since everything started that we have had in 2 episodes. Anyone else think this could mean something? I think it is sounding like Angels recapping some of the main moments in his story before before he dies. If you were being super obsessive this idea (I'm not, I'm not! *shifty eyes*) you could even look into 2-1 and 8-2 to see moments where Angel is trying to be authoritative to Michael and where he rushes out of the car to see Cindy's grave.
Givin a shout out to one of my favorite characters Skittle!! woot-woot!!
Okay, I haven't seen mention of this yet and my friend GutsyCoyote brought it up with me last night. I hope someone here can offer some insight because I couldn't: When Kalani and Riley are in the unmapped portion of Cain Hospital, the Mental Hospital portion, they stumble across Pinstripes. Kalani then says, "It's the one from the arena! The fucker survived!" What does he mean survived? Is he referring to the explosion at the arena? Because if he is then how does Kalani know for certain the explosion was at the arena? The only Tower member to have confirmed the explosion is Saul. Angel and Datu said that they only believe the explosion came from the arena but can't know for certain. So what is Kalani referring to?
Wow...very wtf. I'm sure others will explain this away like always, but I'm digging it nonetheless
Good point. The obvious answer is that he just assumed that it was the arena that got destroyed because that is all that is in the direction of the explosion. However as with any little discrepency you can always read alot into it, could Kalani be the rat? It's always a possibility.
Also remember, they have all been there, so will have a good feel for where the arena is located. In addition, Angel and Kalani talk on the roof of the tower with the net result being that if it was the arena, someone did as a favor.
True. I suppose we could just say that Kalani took his assumtion for truth. Still, it's always fun reading in to the little details until we know for certain. :-) Thanks for the responses on that.
So, since I had luck getting a response to that, I was wondering about another question I had posted that no one so far has helped with: What movie did Bert get the idea to use the walkie talkie explosive to lure the zombies towards it?
Ok, just read through 27 pages of this thread to see if anyone else noticed this on my wife's behalf. When the helo is being fired up and Burt is getting ready to defend the landing pad, you can hear a "ding" in the background. Then Burt shouts, "They're coming!" as you hear the zombie horde coming through.
Is it just us, or did the zombies take the elevator up to the roof???
If they did, my wife wants to know what did the zombies do, wait patiently for the elevator to arrive on their floor, slowly walk in, listen to some muzak, and then spring to undead life when they saw Burt and company?
I heard this too, and promptly forgot. :)
It is not so much to me that the elevator came, as it is likely they 'pushed' the button as they chased them into the elevator. To me it is of more importance that it got up to the top floor. Even if they had pushed every button, surely at the first floor they stopped at a lot of the zombies would have piled out. So it seems like the zombies either had to know where they were likely to go, or be able to read a display panel that might have shown what floor the elevation stopped on.
To me the ding sounds like more of a sound of automatic doors opening. Like, the doors from the interior hall to the roof..could be though..
I'm not 100% sure...just went back and re-re-listened and it seems like that "ding" is simply part of the dreamy music being played during that sequence..nothing more.
This is my first post!!!
This was a really good episode and out of my top 5 characters 4 were in the helicopter!! I very happy that no one died!
In regards to "ground zero" and the mental health facility talk about it being the same place sounds false to me, from what I remember from 2-3; the TiVo said that there were MULTIPLE occurrences across the US and around the globe.
Also, here’s my stab at looking through the crystal ball and making a prediction:
1) The mental hospital was used primarily for testing on zombies or human patients by someone or thing, it could have been doctors, military personal or even the intelligent zombies doing the procedures. No physical cut and paste modifications but purely medicinal causing various effects on the Zombie DNA.
2) The Zombies didn’t seem to come full force at the recon team, I believe they were only to observe and capture but did not plan on them leaving in a helicopter; if you think about their intelligence, they have yet to see a “flying vehicle” so they had no knowledge about how to handle the situation.
3) Saul is going to be intercepted by the helicopter, taken to LAX to meet up with Victor, Datu and Pegs. They will attempt to fly both helicopters back to the tower; Saul, Bert, Pegs and Victor on one chopper, and Kalani, Angel, Riley and Datu take the second chopper. OBVIOUSLY Saul will divert the other heli with Bert backing him up on the decision to look for Lizzy.
Crazy out there thoughts:
• Scratch will join the tower after Bricks and Lizzy are saved
• Michael was saved by an enemy of some kind and is not the “rat” per say but he is being blackmailed by someone or thing.
• They will fly out to the military base only to see it in shambles and need to re-think their plan… (I don’t think there will be survivors, but somehow/somewhere we will need to hear about the outside world and other locations)
Great show!
Good first post. Welcome to the community.
What is being suggested about the mental hospital being "Ground Zero" is for L.A. only. Not globally. And even then, it doesn't really work, in my opinion, simply because the actual ground zero causes people to get sick etc etc. If the hospital was in or near ground zero, the entire hospital crew would have felt the effects before too long.
So from the thread so far I think these Predictions make the most sense (although KCW seams to have a habit of defying predictions.)
:p Saul is bluffing!
(Lizzy would never forgive him if he offered up Peggs and he knows it.)
(Durai might die by Saul's hand (Hrrrmm, something Scratch might want?!) .
zom:( Ink is a lieutenant, lovingly crafted and by Cain who we'll meet later. (who isn't afraid of a Psychiatrist?!?)
 Kalani is the rat, and in communication with the Mallers.
(He is never looking for control but is always next to the guy who is.)
(I bet he knew Burt's security measures. Probably Has a friend in there with him.)
 All our Heroes will survive!!!!! (KCW will have a never mentioned fully fueled generator, random crazy guy, or room filled with weapons/ammo to save the day!)
Is it horrible of me to hope that not all our heroes will survive? I'm pretty sure some one's going to die.
You know you are starting to sound like a sociopath... Just kidding, I do it to. I was upset when everyone survived this episode. But it would definately be more exciting if some characters died. Last season 3 named characters died, plus one minor character. Something big has to happen this season finale, and that will most likely involve deaths.
I love the voice actor for Scratch. She does such a fantastic job, but I think it's time Scratch gets eliminated. I'm certain Saul feels the same. Scarface has been a thorn in the Tower's side for too long. It's time to take her out. Plus with the start of the next season, we could see Durai become the new major threat (well, zombies aside).
Nah. I think Durai has too much untapped potential. We haven't seen what makes him such a leader that even Scratch is afraid to lie to him. I believe it's time for Scratch to get her comeuppance. I do agree though that worrying about zombies alone could get tiresome, but in a real world scenario you will always have assholes trying to take advantage of any good situation you have. As soon as you set up fortifications against zombies, some buttholes are just going to want to move in and smoke some drugs.
So do you think we will find out about the Angel/Scratch relationship this coming chapter? I've been thinking this might happen, but thats because I reckon Angel will die. I think that if we find out about their background, then it makes it more likely that one/both of them will die. If not though, I think we will see scratch again. I mean we know she has some sort of plan for Lizzy.
I gotta agree, we haven't really heard anything from Durai, its all been shadowy allusions. We still don't know who this guy actually is. And as for Scratch while she does make a great antagonist, if she lays a finger on Pegs she will have to die, along with Saul for setting up the trade in the first place shovel:)
