The thing about all action all the time is you don't get invested in the
characters. If you're not invested in the characters, the action (while exciting) only serves to makes things go boom (see any
Michael Bay film). If you're invested in the characters in the production, you really care a lot when they get put in life or death situations. That's why you (and all the members of your
Angel Fan Club) were invested in the battle with the Behemoth.
As much fun as it would be to go all video game on a bunch of zombies, that can't happen all the time or it would lose it's impact. I've always held the belief that We're Alive is primarily a human story. The interesting conflicts come from human vs human with the variable being the zombies.
