My name's Scott, and I'm from Burnsville Minnesota. I got introduced to We're Alive through the promo on Radio Drama Revival telling about Season 2 starting. I decided to listen, gave it a go, and by the mid-point of Episode 2 was hooked, even though I DO NOT care much for zombie movies. I guess being theater of the mind, I can tone down the blood and gore. I caught up around Episode 17. Recently joined the forums.
Hello. I'm Sam from Texas. I'm studying to be an RN, and I like gardening, participating in charity walks, and collecting shot glasses from different places I visit.
I enjoy horror films, especially around Halloween, but I'm no expert. But, one time I had a 3 hour debate with a friend about the difference between the 'living dead' and the 'undead'. Soaps are my thing. Drama: the more, the better.
G'day. I'm from Sydney, Australia and are straight. I have listened to all episodes at least twice and a few more than that. I also really enjoyed The Leviathan Chronicles http://www.leviathanchronicles.com/index.php where somebody turned me onto We're Alive. Both have great production values and writing making me want to listen to more.
The first audio drama I listened to was Ruby: Galatic Gumshoe http://www.zbs.org/catalog/index.php?cPath=2_23 back in the late 80's or early 90's on cassette tape.
I'm a programmer/web developer (not designer) and have broad tastes in music, although I mainly like Trance, BritPop and Nerdcore HipHop.
Being a Geek or course I like SciFi, use Linux and occasionally board game, although I haven't roleplayed in over a decade.
I don't really like horror films, to many people doing stupid things makes me want to shout at them. I don't mind watching old films just for the silliness of them.
Hi, I'm the_highland_coo which is a pest to type so it's now shortened to Coo.
I like the horror genre but more the suspense/spooky side with a good story than the "blood and guts for the sake of it" side of it unless it's got a great story attached.
I listen to a lot of podcasts - they get me though the day, and I found W-A while looking for something else and thought I'd give it a go. Totally hooked (and spooked) from the first couple of episodes. Listened to one of your episodes just before going to sleep and for someone who hardly EVER remembers dreams, I do remember that listening to your podcast gave me nightmares!!!!
Hello, everyone. My name is Bob and I hail from the "great" state of Ohio. I like reading, long walks on the beach, and shooting the undead in the head. Well not so much in the first two but the third one I could definitely get used to. I've been a long time listener and lurker on these forums and decided to jump into the conversation. Hopefully, if the ZA does sprout up a few of us from here will be lucky enough to link up and show those zombies who they are messing with.
Hey, Coo and Bob!
It's great to have you here.
Welcome to the forum!! I came in on We're Alive in March. Been hooked since then.
The "zombie horde call" gave me nightmares, but I loved it!!!!! Welcome.
The ZA is the reason I go shooting with my hun. Well, that an the possibility of an equally deadly alien or robot invasion. Welcome!
I'm Sheila from the land of the ligths Denmark. Remember me as a good friend of yours. I just wanna introduce my self here to people knows me. Thanks!
Hey everyone, so I was inspired to introduce myself after visiting the meetup at Dave & Busters in nyc tonight. Had a great time, wish I could have stayed for longer. So yeah, I started listening in 2010 after seeing an ad on itunes. I put it down for a little while, but after hearing Podcast Beyond's Greg talk about it I got right back into the thick of it and never looked back. I'm a 24 y/o male social worker working in the city. I love pretty much all things zombie like, ever since I first saw 28 days later I've been hooked. I just like the idea of survival and taken to this sort of extreme just gets my imagination going into overdrive. I enjoy biking with no hands down an avenue a lot. And I'm currently reading Gantz, a kickass manga.
Oh and Kc if you're reading this, don't forget to watch Pontypool. And thanks Nick for coordinating the meet & greet. It was great.
Hello. Name is Todd. I live in South Dakota thanks to Uncle Sam. I retired from the USAF after 21 years and 20 days, not that I was counting, and stayed here cause the place is actually pretty good to live in and I still have kids in high school. I came across this place one day sitting at work bored off my butt. I grabbed the ole Droid and googled "Zombie Podcast" and this place was on top. I started looking around the site and listening. I have been hooked ever since. Ya'll have a great story, I really like how you split from the Zombie genre norm and went in a completely different direction. Now if ya'll could get a producer to pick up the show and put on the tv life would be complete! LOL.
Welcome aboard, Todd.
Hi
My name is AJ. I live in southern MI(USA) and work as an insurance auditor. I am a big fan of sci-fi and fantasy. I found the show when I heard KC interviwed on another genre podcast. I rapidly listened to all the episodes and wait each week with baited breath for the next. I had never tried audio as a medium for fiction and I really enjoy it. I am new to thr forums. I don't usually post but I heard some of the forum threads disussed on Were Not Dead and thought they seemed interesting and fun.
Greetings A.J. :D Enjoy your stay!
Hee Haw salutes my home town......
crap no wait that is another topic entirely!
*tiptoes out quietly*
Hi, Names Ken Brown. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago. I severed in the U.S. Navy for 4 years in the early 90's to the mid 90's. (GO NAVY). I am a freelance videographer. As a teen, I was into old black and white movies. You know the ones that came on ABC. The last movie before the station went off the air for the night lol. ( we did not have cable). Soon after I got into radio dramas, and would listen to one when ever my radio decided to pick up the AM station. I am a big fan of audio drama, it shows the creativity of the creator and the listener.
This past March I was in the App store looking for some Walking Dead stuff. I started looking at some of the other zombie cast, saw you guys. Down loaded EP1 and the rest is history.
Welcome Ken! I started in March while in need of some zombie mayhem after TWD finale left me empty, so I understand completely! Enjoy your stay.
Hi, I'm Kirstie. I'm from South Dakota am currently in college to become an electrical engineer. I (obviously) listen to We're Alive and almost all of the Howstuffworks.com podcasts and the Bugle (fuck you Chris!) and I enjoy reading (a lot). I discovered We're Alive after searching for a new podcast on iTunes. I (for some reason) always need a ridiculous number of podcasts in my iTunes at all times and that was why I was looking.
I think you have already made a couple friends here with your first post...welcome!!!
Hi all,
I'm a 20-something grad student- yay research! I enjoy certain uncommon sports and gardening (but not dropping flowerpots!) when I'm not at a computer analyzing data.
I don't enjoy zombie movies, as I'm far too jumpy for most of them, but I love the podcast! I've been a lurker for a while, and finally found something to add to the discussion. I was directed to this thread to introduce myself, so here I am. Thanks for all of the welcomes!
Hey, I'm a 17 like video games graphic art, I listen to The Morning Stream, IGN, All We Know, The Last Podcast on the left, and of course We're Alive, I only just recently started listening(Like 4 days) and loved it so much that I caught all the way up to the most recent chapter already. xD
Hello all.
I found the site by suggestion from someone at AR15.com. I like the episodes so far. Pretty cool. I am not big on posting personal information online, but if there is something you'd like to know just ask.
Hi!
My name is Chris. Found the We're Alive podcast 4 days ago and now I am 100% caught up and have listed to many of the We're Not Dead podcast as well. I just saw it on itunes and thought I would give it a try and LOVE IT!
I'm a father of 3 and have a wonderful sexy wife. I'm 30 and love spending time with friends and family. I look forward to getting to know you all and am super excited about finding out more of this wonderful story!!!
BOOM! KA-POW (and other visual sound effects)
Hi all, I'm Garth.
I'm 31, live on the South Coast UK. This forum is amazing (now I have We're Not Dead and here to see me through the cold, lonely nights whilst I await the release of the next We're Alive instalment :)
I'm not sure if it's a normal progression, but I found out about WA from my AirSoft forum.
(Is it a natural progression from a Zombie lover to Airsoft or visa-vera?)
Either way I have always loved the Zombie thing from a real young age. I've always been a hugh horror fan since I can remember. Watched 976 Evil, Pet Cemetery and Dawn of the Dead when I was real young and I LOVE that feeling of being scared. Not many films have the knack and even fewer books and audio dramas come close to getting your heart racing and nail biting.
Absolutely loving WA and being part of the WA community is massive thing for me, so thanks to you all.
Love everything about WA (even Datoo's accent), laughing out loud at the humour, the suspense, the originality, the creepy f**king sound effects. Even came close to shedding a tear at one point!
Looking forward to a long and delightful residence here, and hope to add a little of my own objectivity to spark off some debates.
Toodles, Garth
