Welcome to the inaugural edition of The Voodoo Lounge where the Monday before the new chapter of "We're Alive" launches, I'll take a shot and predict what will take place over the course of the chapter. I'm not talking about a prediction for say just 19-1, or 19-2. I'm talking the entire chapter. Once it's all said and done, I'll recap your predictions as well as my own, and we'll see how well we've done. I will take your predictions at zombiepodnikvoodoo@gmail.com and I'll put a few of those in each week.
Note: I am in no way affiliated with We're Alive. I am not a writer, editor, designer, or actor in disguise. I have no advanced knowledge of anything that is going to happen in the story. The closest I've even come to talking to KC on a one to one basis is to thank him for the story he's telling us all and thanking him for making me a forum moderator. So trust me when I say, I'm not cheating. I literally have no idea what's coming next. Just some educated guesses.
So, it's Valentine's Day, it sweet and romantic....let's talk Zombies!!
Chapter 19 Predictions
We Will Meet MarcusThis is 100% going to happen. As you'll see the more you read, I hesitate to guarantee anything with 0% or 100%. I'm guaranteeing we meet Marcus. We've now heard him mentioned multiple times over 4 chapter parts. We're going to meet him, damnit! If for nothing else, we need to learn the rules of the colony and Marcus (in theory) created said rules. WE ARE GOING TO MEET HIM!!! Not to mention Michael's arm is about to be rebroken and he's about to become indebted to the Colony and it's all powerful leader, and I have a Mafia theory at play here.
Saul Gets Worse while Michael, Pegs and Kelly Are Gone and Angel will start moving in on Burt's commandThese come via an email at zombiepodnikvoodoo@gmail.com. Thanks Rissie!
While I think it's guaranteed Saul gets worse while Michael, Pegs, and Kelly (M/P/K) are gone at the Colony, I don't think it happens in Chapter 19. I think it's more likely that Saul remains stable as he is for now, and he'll start to get sicker closer to the time M/P/K are able to escape/leave the Colony. That's when I think Saul will take a turn for the worse and then it becomes a race between M/P/K and time to get to Saul. Just not in this chapter. I will hedge this one a little bit higher, however, because the other way to build the tension is to have him get worse, and then discover M/P/K are trapped in the colony. So instead of my original thought of 5%, I'll say 35%. I'm putting this one in my back pocket and will take it out again when it's time for Saul to get sicker.
As for your other prediction, I don't believe Angel has the confidence or the support to attempt a coup right now. He would have Riley's support and potentially Kalani's now, but that's not enough to take out a Shirley happy ex-Gunnery Sergeant. Lizzy still wants to tear him apart for leaving Saul behind once he was shot, and Saul can't help him while chained to a bed and drifting in and out of consciousness. Will he confront Burt if Burt tries to do something stupid? Of course he will, but as for trying to usurp control of the Tower? I'll go higher than I want to because an Angel arguing with Burt might look like a take over and I'll give that a 15% chance.
Who is the next Tower plot line going to follow? Now that Kalani and Angel have completed their mission, what other story are we going to get from the Tower? The options are pretty low. Saul is still all messed up, Lizzy isn't going on any adventures at the moment, Datu is still mentally out of it, Angel and Kalani are going to need rest...so that leaves us with Burt and Riley. We know Burt isn't going anywhere because he's in charge. That leaves us with Riley. I'm going to hedge this prediction a bit and say it's a 25% certainty the next plot line will be about/will focus on Riley. I hedge it so low because we will spend a great deal of time at the Colony and we might spend some time wrapping up Kalani and Angel's mission meaning we may not get to the point we see the next Tower mission. I am pretty confident Riley is up to bat next, it just might not happen in Chapter 19.
Riley Will Come Out of the Closet to AngelAngel is all sorts of busted junk right now and needs stitches which Riley can handle. He will attempt to use his injuries as a chance to make his move on Riley, and she will have to tell him no and explain why so he isn't too crushed. I give this scenario a 30% chance. Again, I'm going so low on this because I have no idea how much of Chapter 19 is going to focus on The Tower as opposed to The Colony.
The Colony will be face a serious Zombie attack1%. I don't see there being a serious threat presented by a Zombie attack. What I think is more likely will be the human conflict between our Tower friends and Marcus and the Colony. And by human conflict I don't mean a physical fight or anything like that. Just some strong disagreements between Colony leadership and the Tower clan. The 1% is to (slightly) cover myself regarding how I think the chapter will unfold which I cover below.
Victor Will Reveal More About His Personal LifeWe've seen how tightly wound up Victor is. We've seen him continually shut down anyone who tries to pry into his personal life, or the lifestyle of the Colony. But we've also seen Kelly observe and note certain things about him, and Michael also persuades him to reveal a little bit about his situation in the Colony. So as convicted Victor is about not revealing anything about himself, I'm going as high as 75% Victor will tell more about his personal life.
And the last one of mine for Chapter 19:
Michael, Pegs, and Kelly Will Escape the ColonyWe have all come to the conclusion there's something not right with the Colony, and that Michael, Pegs, and Kelly are going to have to stage a break out in order to go back North. I happen to agree but I'm going to say there is only a 5% chance this will happen in Chapter 19. I think it's more likely that we listen to the hell of Michael getting his arm re-broken and getting him to the house where Kelly, Pegs and Hope are. The part one cliff hanger is Marcus wants to meet them all. Part 2 is us meeting Marcus and he explains how the Colony works and there is a huge disagreement between Marcus and the Tower folk (end of part 2). The planning session for how to escape the Colony will begin but they aren't ready to go yet. Something will happen to force their hand to attempt an escape before they are ready (but that's where the episode ends).
I just feel like there is way too much that needs to happen before we can logically get to the point we have to leave now!. Remember what Michael, Pegs, and Kelly have been through. This place is paradise compared to the Tower. There will have to be some really strong evidence to make them want to leave, and I don't think it happens before this chapter wraps up. And especially since we don't know exactly what story is going to be told at the Tower which could take up precious story telling time to get M/P/K to a break out attempt.

So that's that! That's what's going to happen according to me in Chapter 19. I'll be back on March 14 to wrap up these predictions, and take a stab at Chapter 20.
