Zombie Battlegrounds –Las Vegas Strip

A bigger and more detailed picture is here.

Let's start this off with a little kick back to Dead Rising 2 in a sense.

The story:
You're with a friend. Having fun in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada for his birthday. You're on the Strip. Around M&M World and Studio 54. Suddenly, from afar, you see someone get attacked. This fledges out into a full on wave of attacks. At Studio 54, you're at a conjunction. Assume the places outside of the map are too far for you to get to. Also assume that the streets are far too jam packed to escape in a vehicle.

The details:
  • Zombies: Slow moving, but very smart.
  • Turn rate: Once bitten, people turn within minutes.
  • Weapons: Nothing. You've been relaxing all day. You can work with content from local stores though.
  • Time of day: 12 PM - 4 PM
  • Group: Just one friend. Everyone around you is much too hectic and blind-sided to care about you or your friend.
  • Rescue: In Dead Rising style – 72 hours (no overtime)

What would you do?

If there's anything else you need to know about the scenario, ask and it shall be added.

First on the list. Get a weapon. There are 4 casinos in the general area. I would go to the MGM grand and procure a gun from security.
Next is to find a place to hole up for 72 hours. Just 1 block north, there is a walgreens. Plenty of food and first aid equipment for me and my friend.

I would head for the Excalibur. The availability of melee weapons from their shows in addition to food, horses, and the ability to blockade yourself within one of the tower suites makes it my spot.

is it just me, or is there a great big Umbrella Corp. logo almost dead center of that map?

with the speed that everyone is turning in this scenario, finding shelter is key. if only 72 hours to wait until rescue one doesn't really even need food or water...it would suck, but it is doable assuming you ate indoors out of the sun. hotels are packed with people fighting for resources and potential zombies themselves. best to hole up someplace away from people...which is difficult to do anywhere on the Las Vegas strip. my thinking is try to find a pawn shop; however, i doubt there is one right on the strip.

i would try and sneak into a money cage... as there are bars and strengthened doors. as there is also, fewer ways in to limit access...

I would think this would be a good place to hide until it is time to get evacuated, but as the casino floor would be teaming with ZED heads I am not sure this would be good..

I would find a place to hide until the excitement dies down. All the large buildings are out. Some kind of smaller hole in the wall shop with at most 2 exits and roof access would be ideal. Less glass front the better. Someplace people wouldn't run to first in a emergency like an arcade or even some abandonned boarded up building would be good. Even a small used car dealership or something near one. After the storm blows over, you're going to need wheels. I'd keep my eye out for a weapon of some kind, melee or pew pew. First priortiy is suitable shelter.
