May he rest in peace. His was loved by, and inspired so many. He will be missed.

The best leave way too early.

At least he left a legacy that will live forever. I can't even imagine another Aliens film now.

That was a cover from Omni wasn't it? I have vague recollections of it. I dug his Necronomicon.

his talent will be missed by the ones he had inspired to think outside the realms of imagination (myself included)

I think so. I saw this on the cover of a game I had called Dark Seed. I agree with you on the Necronomicon.

Yep, the above masked woman seems to be the inspiration of the Borg Queen from Star Trek, First Contact.

Certainly one of the very, very few artists to move me. His work is both frightening, and strangely erotic.

You took the words right out of my mouth. This is almost exactly what I told my wife. The only real difference was that I said his work was nightmarish and erotic. She said, "eww" (Girls!)

Well, it's painfully obvious in some of his stuff. There's a tremendous amount of penetration, genitalia, and sex... how is that not considered erotic? Too many people are frightened by the content to really see the beauty of what he had been able to capture. That said, there's a decent cross-section of his work that makes me think, "This guy must masturbate with two steel bars, and some sand lube."
