A visit from the FBI because i was talking about how a pod-cast could possibly end would suck, but would also just be my luck.

Yeah. Not that I know from personal experience or anything, but I've heard having the 4Chan Party Van parked outside your house can be a bit of a drag.

alright, I think the question is...would it be worth completely deleting their diesel resources to take out the last major nest in la? I mean, if we knew for a fact taking out the jail clears out 90% of the biters, but leaves the colony to rely on nothing but what mother nature provides...is it worth it?

The thing is, in the ratios required for this to work, the amount of diesel would actually be minimal. The bigger problem is getting enough of the primary ingredient for it to be effective. If they can sort that, it is definitely worth the try.

Second, what if they had a back up generator full of diesel inside the jail that could be used?

Chances are that once main power cut out, the generators would have fired up and burned through it all. Much like at the hospital.

Why does everyone hate Pegs :c

I think a better question might be "Why does anyone not hate Pegs?"

Gooer, my friend, let me count the ways (reason) I dislike Pegs:
1. She's a ditz
2. She's needy and clingy
3. The flowerpot, need I say more?
4. She's manipulative
5. She's indecisive
6. She plays up the helpless card
7. I'm listening to Chapter 17 Part 2/3 and there's a great quote that explains my dislike:
Pegs: "Why is everyone we meet a big aggressive A-hole?"
Michael: "All the passive ones are dead."
With one exception, Pegs proves to be pretty damn passive. If it weren't for the "kindness" of the strangers she's leached off of, she'd be dead too.

Granted she's growing food now and is a pilot but she doesn't have many redeeming qualities, imo.

Darnit.....

this little exchange made my night!

those of you discussing the diesel payload needed for a fuel bomb.

my point was not the amount needed. my point was we have to go off of what we know within the story. CJ is the master of supply, last we heard the are running very low on gasoline, and pretty low on the diesel needed for the generators. that is what we know within the story. IRL...yea, theres no way they could have already burned through all the fuel in LA...but these is the situation we are given in the story. does she sacrifice even a small amount of the, lets say 100 gallons of diesel they have left? that's where the hard decisions lie. what we are told is they keep searching farther and farther or only to come back with barely enough to cover what they used getting there. I just feel like there has to be another solution besides using the fuel their generators run on.

but...in all likelihood. yeah, it will be the dirty bomb. refresh my memory, potassium nitrate? its been a while since I looked at things like that. (dad used to run a fertilizer biz. potassium nitrate *I think* and anhydrous ammonia were big on the "keep an eye/video camera on" at all times)

HI NSA! ALL THE ABOVE IS FICTIONAL, HYPERBOLE, AND MEANT FOR ENTERTAINMENT :)

edit* I just noticed in that thing I said "deleted their resources" I meant "depleted" two different things..deplete is to lessen, delete is to do away with (use all)..my defintions at least. sorry! :)

:tinfoil:jet plane, :tinfoil:jet plane, :tinfoil:jet plane....Just saying. There has to be a magical supply of treated airplane fuel out there, right:D?

Not to disparage KC's writing (which is to blaspheme) but Pegs is annoying because a lot of what she does doesn't make sense. If she's not meant to be a pacifist straw dog her morality needs to be explored in ways that don't make her come across as stupid and meaningless. The dreams were a good start. Of course there is only so much time for each character.

For me it wasn't the flower pot, it was the "oops."

i guess the thing about the jail is... what's to become of it?
the way i see it, either:

1.) They (Colonists/Dunbarians) blow it up via bomb/nuke/plane/suicidebomber
2.) They agree it's too big to mess with and they end up moving people as far away as possible
3.) Scratch and Tardust do an Arena II: Jail Time sequel
4.) Ink and Crew end up leaving the stronghold and take the Colony
5.) Michael tell's Datu, "hey... one more thing before you turn. Could you help make a MacGyver-style nuke?"

Amendment to option 5.: "And Datu, when you are done building the bomb, attach it to your belly, turn quicker and move into the jail for some bazinga-ka-BOOOOMMMM!"

R2Da2 was left alone when Jay had the opportunity to kill him. At that moment Jay had no idea about any plans of the zombies or Ink; so this means: obviously zombies leave each other alone when they recognize each other. And this- actually - happened all day long since day 1 of the zombocalypse.
This also means: R2Da2 might have good chances of getting into the jail and doing things without the regulars attacking him. This may change when one of the smart ones, especially Randy and/ or Ink see him and understand that he has not changed 100% yet. But up until then R2Da2 is kind of a Joker. So why not using him bringing some C4 or Dynamite or shit into some important places within the Jail - or use him for collecting intel on them zombs ...

Best wishes!

Hey, Twin Towers Correction Facility, think they're going to ram it with a plane stocked with explosives?God, I hope so. Just as long as Pegs is flying it.

King Datu Said he could not kill himself. So I do not see him doing a Suicide run into the Jail strapped down with explosives.. Unless Michael is the one holding the trigger. Burt maybe have to rig up another one of his Radio Bomb triggers.

The thing is, you need that one person in the group that reminds them that was what humanity was before the breakout: before most people turn into the selfish, living at all costs/killing everyone so you win.

Just for fun, I'd like to suggest that there are other characters in the show that can offer those qualities. We have a baby on the way and what is more human than caring for the young? (Unless it's that hybrid zombie-human baby I'm hoping for. >_>) We also have Hope who seems to be the only remaining child in the show. There could be others living in the colony that we don't know about, of course.

Seeing Pegs lose a bit of her humanity/morality when she killed to protect Michael was quite powerful. I'll give you that!

PS: Don't take anything I say too seriously. I debate for the fun of it.

While a baby and a young child would add more humanity to the group, having Pegs as the passive, cheery, clingy girl adds a bit of diversity, and adds more to the thread-bare strings left of humanity in a apocalypse setting, i'd imagine. If i was in a group like that, i would want different kinds of people like that: to make a new family of sorts. If they were all the same, such as the Mallers, you couldn't really trust them as they are in it for themselves mostly.

Good point. If king Datu the resourceful is a Christian believer, suicide is not an option, c.f. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_views_on_suicide.

Furthermore, suicide is regarded as

- very, very bad - christianity, judaism, islam
- spiritually unacceptable - hinduism
- is depends - jainism
- watch your karma! - buddhism
- come on, we're a bunch of hipsters! - wicca, cf. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_views_on_suicide

So, no, Datu does not sound pretty wicca wicked to me.

I actually like pegs. Sure, she can be a ditz, but i understand Michael's attraction to her. She is the exact opposite of the horrible situation that Michael finds himself as a leader in. He deals with death, fear, and destruction on every choice he makes every day, and she is there in the sun, tending her garden and cows, with a smile, and an upbeat attitude.

If you are in a situation of hopelessness, there is nothing better to have someone to love that makes you feel like there is something to hope for.
That is also why Datu and hope stuck together for so long through so much.

I say the last thing you want to do is get bit.

But let's look at pregnancy from strictly a survival point of view. A pregnancy is a MAJOR undertaking, not to be taken lightly. And immediately as a woman finds she is pregnant, there should be some changes and preparations made. If you were part of a group of 20 survivalists, and one gets pregnant, it is not just one that is going to be unable to work and defend as normal. there are other needs that the pregnant mother-to-be will need and the group will have to accommodate, such as a midwife and additional supplies.

Like I said, it is a major life changing event when someone gets pregnant in a long term survival situation.

I've heard they even figured out what causes that now.

"Realized we were into the 40’s
So many chapters passed before this
And a chapter came, that stopped me on a dime
I spent most of the weekend, looking at the scheduling
Thinking ‘bout the series and thinking ‘bout sweet time
Worried when in sank in, that this might really be the real end
How it hit me…When I realized this kinda news.
What will I do?
And I thought..

[Chorus]

I’ll go We’re Alive’n
I’ll go Tower stairwell climbin’
I’ll listen to an episode, ‘bout a man named King Datu
And I'll love Riley’s laughter
And I'll love Puck’s banter
And I'll give Pegs the credit that I’ve been denying
And I thought I’m glad to have this chance
To live like We’re Alive is dying

I thought, I’m finally the listener
That most the time I wished for
And I became a listener a show would like to have
And all of a sudden re-listenin’
Wasn’t such an imposition
And I listened three times the year I lost this show
Well I finally read the wiki
And I took a good long hard look at how I’d listen
If I could listen all again.
And then

I’d go We’re Alive’n
I’d go Tower stairwell climbin’
I’d listen to an episode, ‘bout a man named King Datu
And I’d love Riley’s laughter
And I’d love Puck’s banter
And I’d give Pegs the credit that I’ve been denying
And I thought I’m glad to have this chance
To live like We’re Alive is dying

Like the series was a gift and you've got eternity
To think about how to listen to it,
What could you do with it, what can
I do with it, what would I do with it.

We’re Alive’n!
I went Tower stairwell climbin’
I listened to an episode, ‘bout a man named King Datu
And I loved Riley’s laughter
And I loved Puck’s banter
And I gave Pegs the credit that I’ve been denying
And I thought I’m glad to have this chance

To live like We’re Alive is dyin'.

I have been re listening to it yet again I think nature has a lot to do with the events. Always crows before doom. canaries or something when good things happen. Also the rain the ambush the stuff with datu. Kind of a cleansing . Rain

Just noticed that Victor said he thought Austin McKibben looked familiar, he must of slightly remembered what Arrowhead looked like....

Ok, I just found out that I might have to revise my opinion on CJ and the colony. Putting in female in charge simply seems to be a common trend these days - at least in Europe:

I wonder what will happen if Mr Wayland seals a deal with the Walt Disney Corporation. Would this not leave the door open for all sorts of origin, pre- and possibly sequel productions?
I mean, they are even planning on doing this:

If Disney should remake WA they better not make the characters anthropomorphic animals... It would just end up looking like a furry convention gone wrong. :) Though it'd be interesting to see what the different characters would become...
...Then Again, they'd probably need to be the same species... If not Tanya would have a lot of Work to do comparing DNA and stuff... Then Again, she's a vet now, would she just become a normal doctor in the Disney version? .........
.........I better just stop thinking about it before my head explodes.........

Muppets would work, kinda. The best fit of course is obvious, Gonzo would be Saul.. Obsessed with chickens. lol

Tanya says "all our soldiers"...but what was Max ? The one who left the hum-v to help Datu on the windmill? Just a civilian trainee?

EDIT:

Never mind, thanks WA Wiki. He was a colonist. Just messed with me as he arrived with the soldiers from the prior trip.
