I know it's made national news about the flooding, but what people aren't seeing is that the same thing is happening in New Mexico. The storms are hitting New Mexico first and then heading North. The Rio Grande is 3-2 feet from being considered flooded. And the rain isn't stopping all weekend. How often do you hear about sink holes in New Mexico?!? Some have shown up in highway medians! We've had landslides and there have been whole towns that needed to be evacuated. Roads have washed out and a horse rescue is completely isolated, it's going to be weeks before the road can be rebuilt to get out there. The Pecos river is generally 3-5 feet deep, it is now closer to 10. Arroyos that haven't seen action in YEARS are overflowing. Parts of Albuquerque are in danger of being evacuated. I'm sorry about the rant, but just because a more popular state is having issues farther North of New Mexico no one sees that the sh!t rolls down hill. Colorado AND New Mexico are flooded. All the water from Colorado has to go somewhere and where is that going to be..? Hmm... Let's think... :zombie:

As i live in the state that got all the sandy attention last year while CT, MA, NJ and many others got overshadowed I can't say I empathize, but I certainly sympathize...I'm sorry to hear about what's going on with you down there. I hope you and your friends and family are safe and stay safe.

I hear ya, San Diego is relatively dry year-round with a few occasional wildfires and we've had flash-flood warnings for about a week now, and it's also because people expect Colorado water to rush in. New Mexico has it worse than us, no doubt, you're not the first I hear talk about it, and I've also had people from Las Vegas and Scottsdale and Phoenix tell me virtually the same thing you're talking about here.

In a way, I'm just a tiny bit happy to hear that arroyos that haven't seen action in years are doing so now. I mean, rain is good (or at least better than a drought), but too much of a good thing can be bad. Hope you're safe and doing well.

Wow, yeah, that's super shitty! Awesome...

Usually, since it's me, I would've made a cutting remark considering flooding and ShamWow, but I feel your rage

The news stations here are saying the Rio Grande is supposed to swell 90x MORE than it already has. It runs through the middle of Albuquerque the largest city in New Mexico, I'm hoping it doesn't get so bad that too many people have to evacuated.

90x more? What? I am not modest in my knowledge of geography, so "whoa!" is an understatement. Seriously hope you and yours come out of it ok, if it does get to be that bad. Be safe and prepared, Lilydragon!

Sending Lilydragon positive and safety conscious vibes. I hope everyone affected by this flooding will be okay, not suffer too much damage, and if they do, will recover quickly. Water is a powerful thing.
