Alright.... I was wondering this.... in one of the episodes Scratch says that she would feed someone to "The Sisters".... So...... when are we going to meet them, if we're going to meet them? Also, are the regular Zombies? Special Infected? Plus, she had them AFTER the strip mall, so either they came along AFTER the Strip Mall, OR They kept then from the Strip Mall and have them as little pets. So.... What's the deal?

And a question to all of you.... What do YOU think they are? Or what is your idea or concept behind them?

As far as I can tell it's a reference to the movie "The Shawshank Redemption". In that movie, there is a group of prisoners who are rather, um, brutal with other inmates. This group, led by a man called Bogs, goes by the name "The Sisters".

Andy Dufresne: I have no enemies here.
Red: Yeah? Wait a while. Word gets around. The Sisters have taken quite a likin' to you. Especially Boggs.
Andy Dufresne: I don't suppose it would help if I told them that I'm not homosexual.
Red: Neither are they. You have to be human first. They don't qualify.

Or maybe she has a similar fetish-attitude like Burt and she calls her knifes "sisters" ...

I always thought it was either...
1) two female zombies that they had locked up somewhere for whatever twisted purpose, to threaten others perhaps;
or, 2) two actual sisters that we're just as messed up as Scratch, or more so. Murderous canibals perhaps, but it maybe ended up not making sense as it was supposed to be an all male prison, and how else do you explain them, etc...

I'm guessing it was a element of the story that just ended up not working or needing to get played out and had since been left out.

I like Liams idea that maybe it's what she called her two knives, but I would have liked to hear that more often then.

"a prison term for a type of inmate..."

ah okay. Never seen that...but which leads me to ask what "type of inmate" exactly? It still seems to refer to someone/thing specific.

Best I can tell (and using Shawshank Redemption as a reference) it is referring to the inmates who aren't necessarily homosexual but they show power and rule over other same-sex inmates with violent sex and sexual activities. They also exhibit brutal behavior outside of sexual acts.

I can't find any references to this outside of Shawshank Redemption, however. So....

That's what it is. Homosexual rapists from the prison are the "sisters".
