Alright gang, I'm sorry I have been away, but I need some help here.
I regret that owing to the fact that I generally stay away from social media for privacy (and other) concerns, my online network of contacts and friends is miniscule. Lacking a network of contacts, I need help in insuring that this story gets covered as widely as possible. It has been a hot topic here in New England in the past couple days, primarily in the Boston area. I just don't know if it has gone national. Litmaster, you have probably already heard about it.
For the record, I'm not a reporter by trade or hobby. I merely have a vested interest in seeing this get spread far and wide, but I'd rather not comment further than that. (Please don't ask.) No I was not involved in this incident either, I was not there. Simply put, this incident needs as much exposure as possible to ensure that as much attention as possible is given to it and it does not end up forgotten about in the news cycle.
I caution you, this news report also contains content that some may find disturbing, as it candidly depicts brutal violence.
I do not post this lightly. Were I not so strongly compelled to share the story I wouldn't even be talking about it, much less directly sharing information about it.
If my sharing this causes a problem, I apologize, I am really and truly sorry.

So, here is a summary of the course of events as they are currently known. I have left out erroneous, redundant and contradictory information. It has been gathered from most of the major outlets in the Greater Boston Area:
Not long after midnight Saturday, March 23rd, a group of patrons at the Grand Canal bar in Boston MA were taking a picture. The woman taking the picture accidentally bumped into another woman. The woman taking the picture apologized, but the other woman refused the apology and started to cause a scene.
Matters escalated and bouncers intervened. They began to "remove" the first group from the bar and began to punch both the men and women as they were "escorted" from the bar. Upon exiting, one of the bouncers, Sidney Phillips, grabbed one of the women by the neck and "choke slammed" her into a parked car.
Her Boyfriend tried to come to her aid and defend her when he was tackled to the ground from behind and held down by one bouncer while Phillips kicked him in the face and stomped him on the head. Four members of the group, two men and two women were taken to and treated at Mass General.
When police arrived on the scene, the owner and manager were uncooperative and were slow to assemble the bouncers for questioning. It took 20 minutes to locate Sidney Phillips who was hiding in the basement.
Upon reviewing the evidence, caught on smartphone video, officers arrested Sidney Phillips. He was subsequently released on $1500 bond.
It is now known that Sidney Phillips has a history of violence committed against patrons of the bar. The day before this incident on Friday, they were warned about a suspension by the Boston Licensing Board for a variety of problems, some including the same bouncer. The primary concern of the board was a similar incident that occurred last December. The managers had failed to perform background checks on Phillips and lied to the BLB investigators, telling them that Phillips had been fired.
The same day of Sidney Phillips' arraignment, the owner went before a Boston Licensing Board hearing and there is another scheduled on April 17th. Phillips' trial is set for June.
Even the Boston Police Commissioner has gone on record stating that regardless of what happened inside, this went too far and the police, state prosecutors and the Boston Licensing Board will be taking action.
In the process of collecting my sources, I have also learned that Bouncer Violence in Boston is apparently a widespread problem. So much so that there are personal injury law firms and attorneys that specialize in Bouncer Violence.
Bottom Line:
If you are comfortable doing so, please spread the word. Help me prevent this from being swept away and forgotten about.
This bully and crooked bar need to be in the news.
