View Full Version : Log-Off and Redirect flawed?

Hi there,

currently I encounter a weird behaviour of the WA forum. Anytime I
actively Log-Off, I expect to be redirected to any forum-page. Instead
I receive the message telling me that I am either not logged in or
restricted to view the content (see screenshot). I happened to notice
this for a while now, but I never actually cared. Is this normal, or is
there some minor flaw in the log-off- or redirect-function?

Here is one example of this behaviour:

Time-Stamp : 11:14 UTC+1 (Berlin, Germany)
My IP : 79.244.188.78
My dial-in node : p4FF4BC4E.dip.t-dialin.net
My browser : Firefox 17.0.1 (Linux-Version)
My OS : Linux (Ubuntu 12.0.4.1 LTS)

All the best!

You're using Unbuntu... that's pretty hard to troubleshoot. Might be a cookie issue. I can test PC and Mac, but not that. Anyone else have any ideas? We have any Linux modders here?

Mh. Yeah, something like I had on my mind as well. Will try another brother and will see, what's going to happen.

<EDIT>
Even better. I ran some more tests with the above-mentioned 'puter-setup. I logged on when visiting certain sections of this forum and logged off again. Everything is fine now. No idea, have changed nothing on my 'puter.
Thus the issue is ... solved?

I recognized, though, that I receive the screen when I am in the groups-section and I log off then. Naturally, 'cause this is a special area on this platform, the redirect leads me to the screen I put into the original posting. So that's allright and nothing to bother with, right?

Sorry for bothering.

No worries. I sometimes like to bug hunt down that stuff, but if it works, it works :)
