How the hell did this all begin??? Who or what started the original outbreak? Who was patient zero and how were they infected? Is the zombie infection viral or bacterial or is it of a symbiotic nature? What was the cause of the first zombie? How the hell did this all happen to begin with?

I know that I have asked a lot of questions. I would deeply appreciate any clarification on these questions that is available. Thanks.

Yes. On the show it started with one explosion and simultaneos breaking news reporting riots from many major cities in the US ... Whatever caused it, whatever lead to "the explosion" ... Season 4 may tell us ...
