On Episode 100 the Boulder evactuation point was near a "S" Mart. CLEARLY KC is a follower of the Evil Dead Zombie Theory.

At the end of "Armies of Darkness" Ash returns to his world only to discover he brought the evil back with him, forcing him to kill Zombies in the "S" Mart he is working at.
We're Alive is just KC telling the story of the consequences of Ash Mispronouning the the "Day the Earth Stood Still" password needed to take Necronomicon.

KC Admitted on Twitter that he and Marv (Burt) are huge Evil dead fans and when I made the above comment to him.... His silence Spoke Volumes.

Unless Kc plans on bringing supernatural elements into the story.......I'd have to fall on the side of coinkydink...or homage paid to the series.

After all.....the "zombies" in Evil Dead aren't actually zombies. They're demonically possessed humans that are capable of surviving dismemberment. Our zombies are tough, but they are no where near that resiliant.

Most likely just an homage...

Most likely just an homage.... Crap! My theory must have been way off... OR too close ;). Since its a homage it would be badass if Burt was bit on the hand but saver himself by amputating his hand with a chainsaw before the infection spread
