The copyright for George Romero's classic zombie movie "Night of the Living Dead" has expired, putting the movie into the public domain. That means you can now legally download your own copy, free.

"The Internet Archive" http://archive.org is a non-profit service that collects public domain movies, TV programming, books and music, and makes it available to the public to view, or to download for your own use. They have posted "Night of the Living Dead" on their site in several formats...watch on line, download to your computer, or download and burn onto a DVD to watch on your TV. Here's a link to the burn to DVD option: http://archive.org/details/night_of_the_living_dead_dvd

The site has a wealth of other zombie genre materials, including other old movies and some hilarious student projects. It's well worth a little browsing time.

Actually.......i totally just realized..... NOTLD has been in the public domain since it was released. There was a snafu with the copyright on the original film and it entered the public domain as soon as it was released.

I will have to look into it more, I work for a public access station, I'd love to be able to broadcast that! Since we're not making a profit off of it, we should be safe.

Yep, you can do whatever you want.. thats why there are like 100 remakes of it... i even thought of doing a remake of it, or a youtube series....but i think it has too much remake hate to ever get interest, lol. So i'll stick to trying to get my own zombie script made.
