Yes, but the fake advertisement reminded people that we do those sorts of things still. It's very exciting!

Congratulations on the new sponsor!

But yeah, I love the fake sponsorships. It shows humour and creativity.

P.S. I want an ad from the Voodoo Lounge, played off like a badass night club.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! As I said in my "Introduce Yourself" post, I'm a HUGE fan of We're Alive, so I'm really glad my comic book, Rex, Zombie Killer (http://www.rexzombiekiller.com), could sponsor some episodes this month.

And for anyone thinking about advertising, the folks at We're Alive could not have been nicer! If you've been thinking about sponsoring, do it!

Heard the Rex sponsor bit on the show and I loved it. Finally, zombie survival from our furry friends point of view.

Thanks, Joe! I agree! (Although we do have Lady the Dog to root for in "We're Alive"...and there's always "zombie cat" on the show, too. ;-)

If anyone is interested in hearing a bit more about the (animal) characters and world of "Rex, Zombie Killer," the site "First Comics News" posted up an interview with me here:

I have no idea how I did not see this before. I'll get on it, though I doubt I'd make the actual podcast now that there's a for real sponsor. Maybe I can convince Britt to make me the sponsor of WND....

I wonder if there will ever be a sort of "Passing by" of the We're Alive Folks and Rex and The Gorilla With the Baseball Bat.... That'd be epic.

I took my kids to the Austin Comic Con this weekend. We saw a booth for Big Dog Ink and stopped by. They had copies of several series, and a stack of Rex the Zombie We also let them know that we found out about it through the We're Alive podcast. I think they were thrilled that we already picked up the issue (thanks Cabbage Patch!). The booth attendant informed us that while Rex was a one-shot, they are close to having another issue come out between spring and summer.
And my daughter looked at a series called "Ursa Minor" and got interested in that. I liked the covers because they paid homage to past horror movies.

So, just passing the love and praise for Rex.

Hey, thanks so much for stopping by and chatting with my publisher! I really appreciate your support!

I am indeed in talks with the publisher about continuing/completing the series, and my fingers are crossed that it all works out. That publishing timing might be a *little* optimistic, but we'll see! :) The artist and I are definitely excited to continue the story.

Optimism drives motivation and momentum. BDI seems like a nice crew, and I don't know if you got a chance to work with Jen Broomall but she's great as well. If BDI gets her to do a B Cover for the next book, I might have to buy a copy for each of my kids.

True, both on optimism and BDI being great folks! I haven't met Jen yet but definitely love her work!

I thought this was one of the fake advertisements. I took the gorilla with a baseball bat idea and wrote a story. I thought, "That would be cool."

Oh well, nothing to do with zombies. I'll have to give props to the originator some how.
