Things that are broken....

Is there anything on the forum that isn't working? I heard someone say something about the avatars. Just want to make sure it's good to go. Post any problems here and I'll look into them.

Also, should newer posts be on top? Some prefer either, but it can be confusing too.

Newer posts on top is far too confusing since most forums don't use this forum. As far as I can tell, they're fine the way they are as of now except for maybe some things that could be added but not needed.

I had no trouble uploading my avatar.
Also (mostly directed at Fraggot) the threads appear in chronological order for me. Not sure if I manually put it that way though, I did change the number of posts per page so I at least looked at the setting.

Avatar is by your posts, Profile Pic is something only people see when they click into your profile. It's not very visible in there.

Hmm, that's odd. It was there instantaneously after I had uploaded it.

Update: checked user control panel, and you're right. I can't even upload an avatar (I only have the choice between current and none). I guess that was a matter of seconds then :)

Either way, I guess that means that there's something wrong with the user permissions.
It's no priority issue if you'd ask me, but on the other hand it should be easy to fix in a matter of seconds.

FIXED IT! There was some weird permissions issue. Everyone should be good now.

Just checked the setting, and I can confirm it works (and yes, this time i'm looking at the options for my Avatar instead of profile picture ^^; )

Not sure if this is broken, or working as intended, but I can't seem to use my XBL gamertag image in my signature, but StepLaugh can (not sure if that is because he is an almighty mod, or not).

i havent tried using a sig yet but you might need a certain type of code for the link. like [img] etc.

yeah, I tried using the img tags, using the html img src= and nothing seemed to work. I kept on getting linked text.

I even dug into the source code of the page to see if there was any indication in there to what was different, and it appears as HTML once it's submitted, so that didn't give me any clues to go on either.

Just got off the phone with our server. We've been overloading it. woo. Since the 15th of last month we've pushed over 11 terabytes of data out of their lines... oops...
We'll be looking into placing the forum and the podcast onto two possible servers over the next few months to try and maximize things, but that might take some time.

the img tags are universal BBC codes, and should work (and do in regular posts, just not in the signature box)

EDIT: I've actually tried it with just random images to see if it was an issue with png files versus jpg files and that doesn't seem to resolve it either. Also, just using an image and no link doesn't work either.

I'm wondering if it has to do with when the account was maybe created, if settings were changed during that time period. That's what I get for waiting to create my profile over here.

When editing your signature, it clearly says HTML, and a few other things are disabled. Moderators and Admins generally have a different set of permissions, hence why they [i]can use images in their signature.

Personally I'm a fan of disabling images in signatures. It tends to make the forums cluttered, chaotic, and every now and then someone uses a way to tall picture (stretching the page without adding any value). But it's not my call - just pointing it out.

P.s: I'm aware of the option to hide signatures, but I don't want to miss the original things some people place either ^^

I've created a Usergroup called Super Users that will allow html in signatures. If anyone asks me I can upgrade their permissions.
