LIVE Streaming Test Show.

On Tuesday 7/26/2011 6:00 PM - There will be a live broadcast test show for We're Alive. NO it's not the season finale... But it will be a previous episode where I will be testing the system with callers calling in, etc. It'll only be an hour long test show, where the Finale will be blocked for 2 hours.

I doubt it. But we'll see. The quality was quite bad, so I contacted them and am actively looking into other options...

Having a relisten to it. You could definately make it work for conversations or WND or a pre-show or something. It's just those clips that aren't up to scratch. There was about 10 seconds delay of you typing after I saw your message pop up. It was like seeing into the future. :)

But with that we have to do the encoding and such... And no call-ins... arg.

And keep in mind we're all mac, so keep that in mind. It's looking like we might have a split server sort of thing. Low Quality on Blog Talk, and High quality elsewhere... BOOOOurns. Any other ideas?

This would be kind of a workaround, but you could also get a skype phone #, and then output both. But that's kind of hackish.

I think you could probably pull blogtalkradio off for just call-ins or a pre-show. If you just found something else with better quality for the actual chapter then it could work.

Here's a thought for you. Ustream (http://www.ustream.tv/discovery/live/all?q=audio%20drama) You could use ustream in tandem with blog talk radio. Stream the finale over ustream (which appears to be free), and promote the blog talk radio phone #. Then when it comes time for the call in show, you could have the phone calls come thru the cpu speakers.

ustream is free, and I've used it a few time, and never really had that much of a problem with it.

Also ustream does have an app for android phone to where you can watch and stream stuff, so the mobile users would not feel left out.

OK, so here's the Plan. We'll have the BlogTalkRadio on the whole time for a LOW-Quality version and the Pre and Post show. For the HIGH RES VERSION, we'll have a shoutcast stream playing. We'll be testing this beforehand to make sure it works on the 26th of July for a test run. The Shoutcast server I can get, BUT, does anyone know about a server that has an embed that will work on all platforms?
