Welcome to the Tower! It must be really neat to hear some places that you are familiar with in the show. And to try to figure out where the fictional settings would be.
Hope you go pst some thoughts/ideas in the episode discussions and theories threads.
Will do. Most of the places are based on real locations so far

Well hi, I'm not entirely sure what to say, but here it goes...
The name's Monty, and I'm just a regular British eighteen-year old who shares a common interest with you all. I take dance and piano lessons in my spare time and I am currently studying Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics at A-Level. I started listening to the podcast at the start of July and I just finished the season 3 finale today. And oh my word it was intense.
I would tell you my favourite characters, but I have far too many. Although I do love Michael, Angel, Datu, Kalani and Riley a ridiculous amount.
I like to draw whenever I get the chance, and at the minute I'm working on Michael, Angel and Saul; I would really appreciate it if any of you were interested in taking a look at them. (Although I'm yet to find out where I should post my pictures on here haha).
So yeah, I don't want to go on about myself too much, but I just wanted to say I think the podcast is brilliant and I cannot wait until August. (:

So I guess I skipped this part and just jumped straight into posting.
My name's Katie and I discovered WA one cold bored night when browsing iTunes and saw the podcast on the featured banner. Listened to the first chapter and was hooked. Nothing extravagant, just good ol' dumb luck.
I've lurked around the forum on and off since finding the story and finally decided to take the plunge. So helloooooo!

Welcome, elvee68! You are amongst quite a group of people who are also hooked on We're Alive. Since you are going through the show from the beginning right now, it might help to look at the episode discussion threads as you finish each episode or season. They are arranged by episode so that you don't accidentally spoil something you haven't listened to yet.

Hey, This is Chainsaw Adams of SOS Radio. I have a show each friday night on Party934 where I hand out zombie survival advise to the listeners with a sweetly morbid psychobilly soundtrack. I'm on here to post a fan-fiction I'm writing called "Survive the Signal" and I hope to earn enough personal credit that one of the creators or actors may come on the show as a guest. Also, my show is always looking for voice actors to act as members of Slasher Plaza. My haven from the undead and radio production studio. We have positions open from security officers to science research specialists. Those who come on the show earn staff positions. Listeners can sign up on my facebook page and become residents. Anyways I hope you enjoy the story that I will begin soon and if you get a chance I hope you can tune in.

Hi I'm Milt living in Norfolk, VA. I've been a big fan of the Zombie genre since George Romero's Night of the Living Dead (saw it first on TV in the 70's). I don't do forums that much but this one is definitely worth it. I would like to read what other people think about one of the best stories ever told in this genre. I bumped into "We're Alive" (WA) while searching Amazon.com for another zombie book. I heard a sample of it, which made me purchase Season 1 and 2 from Audible.com. I was hooked just from the sample audio! I seen uncountable zombie movies and have about 30 e-books on my tablet. WA is one of the best! Some people may disagree, but in IMHO, I like the WA audio drama a bit more than the "Walking Dead" (WD) TV series. Don't get me wrong, WD is bad A**!, But WA has more action, suspense, different types of zombies, and I can have my own view of how the characters look (lol). WA seems to be more than an infection that started it like most (if not all) zombie movies, with the exception of Allen Ormsby"s "Children Should Play With Dead Things - (1970's bad acting, very low budget, but a very good and creepy story!). You know, I don't think the writers should let us really know why it happened, and who the guy in the pin strip suite really is until a couple more season down the road. Those two points in the plot really bugs me and will make me come back for more just because I don't know yet.
Anyway I can't wait until season 4!!! WA is too INTENSE!!!
Thanks
Sammy D

Hi, it is great to be here!
My story of finding We're Alive is pretty cool! A few years back on a poker night one of my buddies mentioned that he had found this show. I didn't think to check it out at the time until this year when I started Grad school. I was spending more time doing research in the library and needed something to to play so that I could keep focused (just the way I work haha). Remembering that conversation I downloaded a few episodes. I quickly became hooked on the show and was amazed by how compelling the story was beyond just the standard "shoot em in the head style" standard zombie fare. It has really come in handy both while working and during long commutes.
Very excited and looking forward to being a part of the community

Hi, I'm Terry from Richmond, VA. I got sucked into the whole zombie genre via the Walking Dead... Then I started reading- stuff like Yesterday's Gone, World War Z, Apocalypse Z, the LZR series, The Remaining, Hugh Howey's very bizarre "I Zombie" ... And so on. I like listening to Podcasts while I'm driving, and was pretty well stuck on This American Life and Savage Love... Then when the podcast app came out I had a more thorough look at what was out there and stumbled upon "We're Alive." I have been on a marathon listening session from the first chapter for weeks now and loving every minute. I just finished Mark of the Beast so I still have a long way to go before I catch up. Which is actually depressing to think about because I'm going probably chew my own arm off waiting for episodes like the rest of you have to do. But for now, it's a happy click of a button and I'm on to the next. Love this podcast so much- I can't believe there's to more out there like this- but I imagine its not easy to do, and these folks are seriously talented.

Hello and welcome Terry and Michaela,
@Terry: you seem to be one of the new zeeh-specialists. And your estimate about chewing off arms is not too far-fetched. My advice: listen to the WA show several times. You'll recognize plenty of new details and actually even important 'facts' within the WA-verse. Already knowing how things turned out to be is no hindrance to enjoying the show a second, third or whatever time. Actually I am very amazed that the suspense does not wear off so much. Give it a try, and you'll see that the waiting till season #4 will be less annoying. :D
@Michaela:
I know Rotterdam. Not the one in NY, but the one in the Netherlands. ;)
Looks like you have some skills in establishing special survival traits - like how to take care of a safe-house. :D
Creatures of the Nights can be fun, but Zombies are awesome. Zombies have a weird 'factor' to them, which creatures of the night lack a lot.Creatures of the night usually show up as solitairy creatures or very small societies with super-powers. But zombies ... Horde, stupid, 24/7 active, simply dangerous, ok, well, and kind of superpowers as well ... You got me. ;)
Same for you: While planning to get away from Rotterdam, try listening to WA several times. Plenty of detail-work was and is put in there; you'll love it.
All the best!

Yeah, this is what I "heard" as well - fall 2013; as far as I know it was not decided up until the end of 2k12, when season #4 would start - either summer or fall because of wedding and personal stuff and whatnot.
But guess what, John? Just relisten several times to the seasons 1-3; you will recognize many, many details which may have slipped your attention. Also it is an interesting experience to experience dialogues and situations with a basic understanding of what is going to happen next. Also this helps you cover the time until season #4. ;)

Hello all. I am Greg and have a crappy job that pays the bills. To keep my sanity I have become a Zombie fanatic. I also study gunsmithing and knifesmithing. In some of my other free time I practice target shooting with both a Ruger 10/22 and my M4-177 pellet rifle. Zombies have been a big part of my life for at least the last 5-6 years. I have seen countless movies and read innumerable books on the subject. A friend told me about the podcast so this morning I checked it out and am already hooked. Thanks for hosting such a great sight.

Thanks for hosting such a great sight.
considering all of the above you most certainly are not to be considered zombie-food; but zombies are to be considered Greg-food. :) Nice to welcome another full expert on all things zeeh ... :)
Enjoy your stay!

The best way to do that is to either request a name change or holler for Kc, nikvoodoo or anyone with a red name. Your best bet is to request the change in the appropriate thread:

Thanks
Love the show too. Check out the building next to the Harris Teeter in Ghent. N eaR Princess Anne. Now THAT'S the tower. Also, check out our game of trivia here http://www.zombiepodcast.com/forum/showthread.php?3984-We-re-Alive-REP-ivia!!!&p=54941&viewfull=1#post54941

In the unlikely event that somebody missed Witch_Doctor's shameless whoring . . . there's a trivia thread you can read. There's also about a million and a half hours of theory , character discussion, and speculation threads you can sift through. Let's not forget the pages of fan fiction, and short stories to read. Oh, and all the blogs. There's a lot more than just trivia.

I found the podcast on accident XD i was browsing itunes one night (shortly after halloween <3) and i discovered it imediatlly downloading the first two season XD.

- I live with my parents (Because i am only a teenager and mostly borke in high school XD)
- I've always stuck to the "outcasts" of my town (They are so much less dramatic than the girls and "pops")
- I cant stand the sight of my own blood but i am perfectly fine dealing with other peoples (i know Strange)
- I am doomed to be single for the rest of my life (dramatic i know but.... in my town... ugh)
- I have a baby brother (I love him to death) and unfortunatly an obnoxious little sister -_-
- I have died twice (once from seixures when i was 2 and a second when i was 7 from a collapsed lung caused by CPR from a doctor)
- I am ADDICTED to books of all types though my favorite is from like 2nd grade (The Tales Of Desperaux)

Welcome to the forum! Saul and Victor are my FAVIORITE characters EVER! You post your pics within your profile settings. You can create an album. Good luck!

Hey there. My name is Shay and I'm a registered nurse in SW Florida at a psychiatric hospital. I'm 36 and married. I found the podcast by dumb luck and I'm glad I did! I'm huge into the Z genre and had exhausted all my reading options. I'll create a post of some of the good series I've read and hopefully the community will have more suggestions. Ironically, zombies are not only my favorite genre...but my biggest fear! I'm such a goober, and I'm ok with it lol. I love the resident evil games, but in order to play it I have to hand hubs the controller and peek through my fingers haha.
Hey Shay! Welcome to the community of We're Alive. It's a great place for fans of a great show.
I understand exhausting your reading options. One of the great things about We're Alive is the ongoing "unanswered questions" that make re-listening to all the episodes so much fun. Once you get through the end of Season 3, I suggest going back to the beginning and catching things you might have missed the first time through.
Welcome to the Tower!

And up til now I've never visited the website. Actually I tend not to get involved in most forums/discussion boards for whatever reason (maybe because I'm a bit of a neophyte and still prefer in person discussions, I dunno). But I have no one I know to talk about this show with and it really is an extraordinary piece of audio drama. It is as good as any OTR or audio book I've ever listened to. So I thought I'd register and say hi...and not just be a drop in and lurk sort. So Hi:excited:

Hey not sure if i'm doing this right (i'm kinda new to forums and stuff if you hadn't guessed already)
I started listening to this amazing podcast in 2010 and have been hooked since about the second sentence. I don't have a lot of experience in podcasts but this is so well done I don't have to, to know this is amazing.
Anyway enough brown nosing, I'm 18, I live in the UK and I consider myself to be just another regular guy. I'm friendly, good natured and always up for making new friends.

Obvisouly new - actually I'm not a huge fan of introducing myself....but after my first post and it said I was a lurker....
I feel like i have to introduce myself now.
My name is Lisa, I'm in Texas -work in an office that will afford NO PROTECTION on V Day. So I hope my best friend will be getting her CHL very soon. Then I need to go work on mine ;)
Erm...I love horror movies, stories, podcasts, etc. My fiance keeps trying to convince me that "surrounding myself with that stuff and putting it straight into my head every day is not healthy." But until I find a podcast of just mental images of rainbows, I guess he's SOL. Anyways, hello zombie world!

I actually skipped the first showing of last weeks Walking Dead because I couldn't stand not finding out what happened next in WA.

now, THAT is sweet. A podcast being more powerful then a well known TV-show with a grand reputation. Sweet. Sweetsweetsweet. Maybe one reason could be that WA thrills your imagination, while tWD simply puts everything on the plate. ;)
My advice: You have listened ONCE to WA; then don't stop listening. Listen to it some more times. You will recognize a lot more details, understand certain dialogues and situations 'new' and draw even more joy and excitement out of it.
Also: Feel free to share your thoughts on this forum. There is always plenty of stuff to talk about! Looking forward to seeing your thoughts and ideas!

Steve. For halloween one year, I impaled a mannequin on a flag pole attached to the front of my house. My father-in-law built the flag pole out of a steal fence post with a large pointed fence cap. He like to build things large and strong. I mount my guy on it with red paint splattered on the end of the post. My nieghbour suggested that we name him Pierce D. Heart.

I think this may help a lot in a zombie-apocalypse - to improvise weapons and to be inventive in "taking care of things". Welcome!

I have already started listening from the start again. :) Great character development, dialog, and sound effects.. WA really pulls you in from the start, and held my interest better then any other zombie movie/show/book i have seen/read. I believe what draws me in the most, is like you said, on movies/shows its all just set down in front of you and there isn't really anything left to the imagination other then a couple twist here and there, or with books you are locked in, but still you are focused on reading, and still aware of whats going on in the room around you. But with WA, when you put on some noise canceling headphones and turn the lights off, with a good imagination it almost feels like you are there. Like you are a part of whats happening. And THAT is what has me hooked on WA.
Thanks for the welcomes. Looking forward to reading the thoughts and opinions in this forum. :)

Hey Ghost (sorry I called you Lurker duh :tinfoil:), welcome!
Not only is KC's audio drama the best thing that I've personally found out there in podcast land but the forum is a lot of fun too. The members are able to contribute as much as they want, and comments or trends have sometimes led to new things being added to the forum. KC is great in how he responds to what his customers seem to want. You'll see some of us that are always on here and then it'll really pick up when the show starts up again in August. It can get a little hairy with opinions and so forth but generally most are considerate and open minded folks. And if not then Osiris ot Limaster, or other are always available to set them straight. As you're going through the podcast for the first time, please don't hesitate to offer your own interpretations, opinions, or whatever you want whenever you want. I've listened through it many many times and sometime still hear something I hadn't caught before. Enjoy!

Hello everyone!
Iīm new at the forum, but Iīve been listening to WA for some time now. I am actually on the second run now, canīt wait for season 4. Thank god I just found the WND podcast, so now I can dwelwe deeper into the WA-universe.
About me: I live in Stockholm, Sweden with my husband and two kids ( I am slowly but "surly" getting my kids into the Zombieworld, a tip is to start with some sweet games like Plants vs Zombies then they are hooked).
I work as a sales woman and in my free time I read a lot and I love cooking.
Well, donīt know what else to tell. Meaby that I have a big crush on Shane Salk, oops donīt tell my husband :hsugh:

Hey SwedeGirl! Welcome to the forum. If you like WA (and really, who doesn't?) then you've come to the right place...
Welcome to the Tower. There's some great discussions all over the place. Check out the Episode Discussion threads to dig deeper into individual episodes/chapters. The Theories threads are the places that discussions happen like "How did it start?" and "How will it end?" and everything in between.
And if you want to test you're knowledge of all things WA, then click the Reptrivia button up at the top of the page and try out the We're Alive trivia quizzes.
Looking forward to seeing you around the place. Enjoy!

I'm a caveman when it comes to computers--this is the first and hopefully only blog/podcast/website thingy I've ever signed up for--so I apologize if my... whatever, avatar? Profile?... looks generic and lame. I signed up for this site because I wanted to see if there was a real zombie niche, for lack of a better word, still out there, and I couldn't read your guys' stuff unless I signed up. Looks like there kind of is?
It's hard to phrase this right so as not to come off like a bearded guy who spends the majority of his time with a laptop in a Starbucks wearing a kepi hat, turtleneck and lensless glasses (hoping against hope that some lovely ladies at a nearby table speak in stage whispers about how I must be an artist or screenwriter), but: I just wanted to see if there are more than the close-knit group of people I know that care more than just in passing about zombies. Reason? I'm nearly finished writing my zombie novel and while I don't expect to sell millions, I wanted to see if there's a group of folks out there who'd even be interested in picking it up for what would hopefully be an entertaining read. I promise one thing about the book, it is impossible for it to be worse than whathisname's zombie novel from New Girl. That being said, do any of you read zombie books? Or do the majority of you just subscribe to this podcast and watch Walking Dead?
Note: I am absolutely NOT trying to plug my book here. That would be more douche-ish than actually BEING a guy in a turtleneck pretending to be a writer in a Starbucks. I just want to know if enthusiasts like you read zombie books, so IF, against that day later this month when I try (and likely fail) to get a publisher to stamp APPROVAL on my quote unquote manuscript, I can possibly say, "Hey, publisher dude or Lady, the zombie thing is still alive and kicking (pun intended) so maybe you should snatch this up before I break down and e-publish the sh** out of this book instead of waiting around in my tea room with the neighborhood watch sipping Camellia Sinensis awkwardly tittering about how dreary cloudy days are."
Other note: I probably wouldn't have gotten back on here after first signing up if a nastygram didn't appear in my email about how disloyal I am for not logging on in the last 28 days or so. Like I said in the beginning, I'm a caveman when it comes to this stuff. So, thank you, anonymous nastygram writer. You've given me a reason to live. Or, perhaps better to say: I'm still alive, yo.

Hello Dr. Tripple-B.
Your pseudonym is kind of ... awesome. No reason to worry ebout. My first thought was: "Creative. Sweet. How the hell would someone consider himself as spineless and meaningless and present himself as tripple-b-rated???" But I guess you have a lot more spine and meaning then many people out there. Reason: You write, you like zombie-pop-culture, you have registered to this forum. Welcome!
Anyway: The WA podcast fills a very sweet niche in the zombie-popculture. There are few (if any) podcasts dedicated to this topic. And the cast and crew around Kc Wayland do a terrific job with their 'We're Alive'-show. I think that is one of the major reasons why more and more people stick with it.
If you pay close attention to the forum-sections of "Everything Else", "Writer's Lounge" and "Fan Fiction" as well as the blog-section of the WA-communicty, you will recognize that there are many members around who dedicate more time to all-things-zombie then just listening to this podcast. Besides: All the forum-sections about discussions about WA reflect this as well. So, yeah: You will find "zombie-fans" in numbers on this board.
That being said: You will also find people who read some up to a lot zombie-novels. And if you ask for seriously ment critics, you most likely will find them here. Also you can rest assured that you will find a lot of people here who are not just hotshots tossing around opinions; instead there are many people around who have a lot of insight into literature, story-telling, pop-culture etc. So again: You have chosen the right place for whatever you like to do ...
Enjoy your time!

Thanks for the welcome. Two things: Has anybody on here gotten something zombo-related published, e-style or otherwise? That'd be very interesting to know, so like a fan suckling at the for-reals-novelist's teats I could pick their brain slash experience with it and go from there. Item numero dos: Where is the Writer's Lounge? I suck at this, as previously mentioned. I found "Everything Else" and "Fan Fiction", but not the Writer's Lounge. Unless, which is most probable, I was IN the Writer's Lounge whenst I came across the other two forums.
As for the Triple-B rated, that's really just a horrible attempt at a pen name's initials. It wouldn't be prudent for me to publish my actual name (if that ever happened in DrSkitz's Imagination Land) as I'm still in the military and doing "stuff" that uh... know what? Never mind. Saying that I can't say things is retarded. People that do that usually aren't actually doing things they shouldn't talk about. Suffice it to say that beyond the military thing, I use a fake name in my gmail address (that Google recently had a giant little girl hissy fit about) so it is slightly less easy for people to look me up and see what I write.
BUT a few months ago my landlord approved of me paying a plumber to unclog the shower drain, in that she would pay me back the amount spent on the plumber whenst the job was complete. But my landlord--a very sweet senior citizen--is a bit on the aged side, and hasn't yet figured out that the name I used to use on my gmail isn't my ACTUAL name. My ACTUAL name I made sure to signature block at the end of each email I sent to her, but this was beyond her grasp for some reason. (It's on the lease, woman! You watched me sign it! You know my real name because I pay you every month with a check that HAS my name on it! Consternation factor set at max phaser output!)
BBB came about because my old gmail user name was Blory Bledding. Sweet Landlord Lady penned a check to "me" reimbursing me for the plumber's expenses, using my fake gmail name--Blory Bledding. So when I went to the bank to try to deposit the check, I ended up not only having to print out the series of emails related to the plumbing incident proving that I was in fact the guy who the check was made out to and ALSO the owner of the fake name "Blory Bledding" that she made the check to, but I had to go to the courthouse and acquire an "Also Known As" alias to the effect of Blory Bledding (for a nominal fee of $18; who knew it was so easy to get yourself an alias?) in order to get the check deposited in my new Blory Bledding bank account.
I figured I might as well write/publish under Blory B. Bledding, since I already have a bank account in that name and it shouldn't be too hard to get royalties redirected there. I've since had to change my gmail to a different name to appease the Google Gods, but BBB will inevitably be my pseudonym for when/if I get this long-overworked zombie novel published.
Um. Liam. I apologize for the sixty-two paragraphs response to my Introduction. My hands get rum-fingers after a while and they're nearly impossible to stop, like the time I wrote Camelbak (TM) to tell them one drunken night how shitty I thought their product was and ended up getting free shit for my troubles. I will endeavor to make the forthcoming responses to responses more succinct.
Boom goes the dynamite.

Hi Dr. Tripple-B,
it's cool. I didn't know that using pseudonyms or false names is such a complicated thing in the US ... But, hack, why would it be any different over there then it is here in Germany? Yeah, well ... :)
The writer's lounge you will find here:
http://www.zombiepodcast.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?101-Writer-s-Lounge
edit: I just happened to notice that this particular forum-area is only available, if you are logged on the forum; while you are offline, it is not accessible. /edit
edit2: what Osiris says. /edit
But I am sorry to tell you that I do not have any idea about anyone here who writes or produces stuff about zombies. I am on a SciFi project currently; and this does not involve any one zombie or creature from horror-tales ...
All the best!

Ho There all,
I finally decided to make an account here.
I was given the first season of the show as a gift last year and tore through it over and over 3 times.
I am trying to find more seasons, but I am not a "tech-savvy" person and have trouble tracking it down.
Also, I though that it may be cool to meet people who share an interest in this show who may live near me.

hello and welcome to the community.
If you have an iTunes account, you will find the complete show there as a free download; all episodes are available via this site as well: http://www.zombiepodcast.com/listen/

Ho There all.
Bob MC here.
I live in the Detroit area and was wondering of anyone here is local to me.
I work in marketing so I have no Soul to speak of. I maintain a home and spend a lot of time reading.
Not a huge gamer, but I have logged a few hours in some good ones (Age of Sorcery, Borderlands, PS3 stuff).
Not online at home, only in the office. I have not had an active TV in the past 6 months and feel completely liberated from it.
I garden, and I am designing a set of light plate armor. I also a poker game every week.
Obviously the Zombie genre is dear to me. Mostly because it is the single most frightening scenario that I can imagine.
I feel that being prepared for something like that would probably make you prepared for any other horrible thing that could happen.
Cheers.
I have a Nokia Lumina phone, and no "i-tech" of any kind.
I have searched for Apps that are compatible but have not found any.
I hope to touch base with my friend who gave me season one and see if he can help me to acquire the rest through his means.
My hope is to get caught up soon.
This show is great. being that I am a bit of a "tech-throwback", the whole Radio-Drama plays well with me.
This is something of a forgotten art. What with 3-D taking over the movies and actual story telling becoming a thing of the past.

For reall!!!! Dude I am one of the biggest Pearl Jam fans (also big fan of The Doors and Alice in Chains), got all their records and went to see them multiple times! I know of the concert back in the early 90's from Pearl Jam in Vera.. Funny thing is a few years later after a concert in Amsterdam Eddie Vedder traveled to Groningen by train to play with a former band they had in the 'pre show', The Fastbacks. I wonder what show you have seen back then?

Hm. That's a good question. Video game wise, not too much. I'm just now getting into the Xbox and Playstation franchises after many years of playing Nintendo exclusively. A favorite of mine right now is multiplayer on Max Payne 3, I'm one of the core members for a few of the largest "crews" (or groups) on that game. That led to an interest in other shooters, including Call of Duty, Army of Two, etc. I'm not very good at free aim yet (Max Payne has soft lock. :) ), so I die a lot in other games. :) I never played the Mass Effect series and have started that, and I am a huge fan of Skyrim. I've put over 200 hours into it collectively and still haven't finished the main storyline. I also play some PC games, mainly EA games (The Sims, SimCity, etc.).
Sorry for the long-winded answer. :) I'm wordy. Obviously.

It is very addicting, it was the first open world type game I really got into, and I realized very quickly that I would have to set boundaries, lol. It is very fun though, and the dlc is actually decent as well. I've really enjoyed it. The story is compelling, and the artwork is beautiful.

When I get the chance to go, I do. I live in the Southeastern USA and we get great seasons for whitetail deer and turkey. The deer aren't as big as moose, of course, but I've seen some in the 200 pound range around here. Would love to go on a moose hunt some time but I gotta travel a long way for that and I don't really enjoy being that cold... :)

Morning Everyone,
So I found this Podcast after searching for something to fill my commuting time. I drive an hour back and forth to work (sometimes slightly longer depending now on the story if its a cliff hanger. lol). Really ejoying it. Up to Chapter 21 just now and really can't believe how deep the story is and the sub plots and backgrounds. Thank you to KC Wayland for an awesome production. And thank you to the Cast and Crew or there company on some very long drive homes.
Cheers

Welcome to the addiction! At Chapter 21, you are just getting warmed up.... :)
I also love the depth of the story and the development of the characters. The sound design and the actors themselves help put it into the top as well.
Enjoy the rest of the show....

Hi!
My name is Bryan, although hardly anyone uses it, most prefer to call my by my DJ name “Ghost”. Im from a small pit village in the North East of England, not far from the city of Durham.
I am a self employed DJ and game designer. The games I design are the table top role playing kind, and I own the indi games company “Gethsemane Games”, writing fantasy and horror RPGs and wargame. By education I am a social scientific and criminologist, specialising in the application Of the scientific method to the social sciences, amongst other things. I also have qualifications in forensic art, of all things, having qualified just as manual Forensic art was largely supplanted by CAD programmes (typical eh?). I can honestly say I have never been gainfully employed in any of the fields related to my formal education.
I DJ and run, a Goth club night in the UK along with my wife and our business partner Kev as well as Djing various other Goth and steampunk events around the UK and Djing the Vampires Ball and the 1880s night at the Bram Stoker International Film Festival in Whitby, North Yorkshire on the east coast of England.
I host a weekly show on a not for profit internet radio station, the show airs sci-fi, fantasy and horror audio drama (both OTR and new, contemporary works form various groups). Audio drama has been a passion of mine since childhood. My love of audio drama was passed onto me by my Grandmother who used to listen to the old BBC radio anthology series “The Man In Black” almost religiously. This also helped nurture my interest in horror rand ghost stories as a whole.
I discovered “We are alive” recently, after listening to “1:18 migration” and being told by another fan that if I liked that, I should check WA as well, she was right, and I owe her a big thank you!
Other than that, I am overly verbose and have a worry addiction to Peanut M+Ms as well as to Port.

Ghost, welcome to the We're Alive addiction!
That's quite an interesting bio you got there. I'm curious to know how you go about getting into DJ'ing goth and steampunk clubs/events. I've never been to one and wonder how different it is from other types of nightclubs...
Anyway, good to see you here and hope to see you posting in the near future.
PS - once you've had a chance to get all the way through the 3 seasons (so far) at least once, make sure you jump into the REPtrivia game. There's a link up at the top of each page in the forum.

Thanks Scbubba, nice of you to say so.
As far as getting into Djing Goth and Steampunk, well, in my case, I've been a goth since the late 1st/early 2nd generation (in around 1986). About 15 years ago the local clubs just weren’t playing anything that appealed to myself and most the Goths I knew, so we just decided to set up our own club night. It went pretty well, and before we knew it we had built ourselves a national reputation. Bands and labels started sending us their new releases, often as much as 6 months before they were due to be released, and clubs all around the UK started asking us to come and guest DJ at their clubs. They tended to report increase numbers through the doors when we played (by we I mean my wife and I).
We were then approached to DJ the Whitby Dracula society weekends and various events that were part of the Whitby Goth weekend – including the Steampunk fringe at the Goth weekend.
We went down to the big UK Steampunk weekend, “Weekend at the Asylum” held annually in Lincoln the first year, just as paying customers, and, as is my way, got chatting to the organisers, who recognised me form Whitby. The following year they approached me and asked if I could do some Djing for Asylum and help put on the sound team, which I did, and really enjoyed, they just kept booking me, so I kept showing up :)
Couple of years back, The Bram Stoker International Film Festival was launched, and as fate would have it they hired the people that run Weekend at the Asylum to organise the non-film based entertainment such as the vampire ball and they immediately rang me about Djing it, which I did. I've been booked to DJ it every year since and occasionally help out here and there with suggestions for bands they may like to book.
That's sort of it really, it all just kind of grew out of us setting up our own club night “The Charnel House” which has been going strong for 15 years now and snowballed from that point.
As for how they differ from other clubs, not that much really, other than the music policy. On the whole Steampunks will listen to just about anything, including Steampunk bands like Abney Park or The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing as well as actual punk bands, classical music, music hall and so on.
Goth clubs can be a wee bit trickier since the genre has been around since 1979 and has gone through phases, from the post punk period with bands like Bauhause, The Sex Gang children and so on, to the Goth Rockers like the Sisters of Mercy, the March Violets et al, then the industrial Goth, EBM and Cyber Goth, Goth metal, Darkwave, Dark Indie and so on, so you need to be able to adapt to what the room wants and be ready to throw in a fairly eclectic mix.

Hey everyone. My name's Jim. I only recently got started on We're Alive, and blazed through the first season in a few days. I'm amazed with the quality and hard work that went into the creation of this place and look forward to sticking around to hear more of the story unfold. I'm a big zombie apocalypse fan, and have actually written some of my own stories concerning it. Stories that focus on characters first and action second are always much better in my opinion, and that's probably why I've been digging W.A so much.

Hey Everyone!
I've been kicking it back and forth whether to join the community so I finally took the leap and well...here I am.
The name is Andrew, 30 years old from Southern California or more specifically Fontana (Inland Empire). I've been an avid lover of everything Zombies since I can remember. My buddy had been hounding me to check out We're Alive for like 2 years and I just never got around to it, however when I did I quickly finished the entire 3 seasons in a matter of 4 weeks or so.
Im a Graphic/Web Designer, I've worked in commercial printing for 10 years, but also run my own design & printing company. Im usually working 24/7 whether it be full-time gig or freelance base but aside from that Im a HUGE lover of Craft Beer and breweries so if anyone wants to chat beer sometime just hit me up. I'm happy to be a part of this bunch and hope to maybe chat with some of you about upcoming or prior episodes.
Catch ya'll round!

Welcome to the fun, Andrew!
Saw you mentioned craft beer and So Cal. Do you find a lot of local craft beer in your area? Or do you mainly get stuff from other areas?
We have a growing community of brewers here in my area (coastal South Carolina) thanks to some recent changes in state laws. It's great to have several local choices. It has also driven several businesses to expand their non-local offerings too.
Anyway, what are some of your favorite craft beers right now?

My name is Tony from deep down da bayou in Addis LA. Just happened across your podcast and listened to all 3 seasons in about 2 days!!! Can't wait for the new season. Lizzy sounds hot - makes sense since the voice talent working with her is hot. The Saul - Lizzy relationship annoyed me at first / now it's the most emotional story line. The writing got better as the show progressed. Well done!

Hi, I'm Christian. Found We're Alive last week and now I'm almost done with Season 1. I'm a huge fan of the zombie fiction so this podcast is a real treat. Now I have an awesome motivator to get me walking!

So far I'm really impressed. While I think some of the voice acting and dialogue is weak, but everything else is incredible. My thoughts on the acting aside, the story itself is engrossing and I love the focus on establishing a community and long term survival rather than just killing zombies

I felt the same in the first season - takes off like a rocket ship when the mallers appear.
