Hi guys. My name is Allyson, but my nickname is Ally. Anyway, I've been listening to this podcast for about two years. I heard a promo for it on another podcast. Unfortunately, I can't remember which one it was. :(

Anyway, I look forward to chatting with you all. :)

I found "We're Alive" while looking for different podcasts so I would have something to listen to when I was in the middle of nowhere and lost my fast data connection on my phone. When I first found it I thought that it was over already so I didn't rush through it, I just listened mostly when I was way out of cell range. I found "We're Not Dead" and downloaded them but waited till both podcasts synced to start listening. It wasn't until I got to chapter 18 and started listening to WND that I found out that the show was still very much going on. Then I started focusing more on getting caught up on the shows. I still waited to come here till I was caught up. It took me about a month to listen to every episode of both podcasts and now, for the 1st time, I am feeling unfulfilled because I'm having to wait for the next installment. So, I've started re-listening to the show from the beginning. But at least now I can try to be involved in the forums and stuff.

Forums help very much. They're are grouops (like osiris's new book club) and all kinds of random things. You'll find our most consistent members hangingaround the chatbox any givin day(BEWARE no spoliers in the lounge, trust me it is harder than you think, vip lounge right next door is spoiler allowed though). Sometimes KC is onthe chatbox

If you have any problems look for someone whose name is in RED they are our moderators they tune up the sites
And welcome to the tower!

p.s. Yes, there's a book club, as awkwardalex mentioned in his/her very awkward way. There's also pie! Somewhere, not sure where it was left though.

Wow. I LOVED Buffy for it's occassionaly creepy characters and apocalypse scenarios, it's crazy humor and it's humanity with the Scooby Gang. But I did not like every ep. Just like I love Freddy Kreuger but not every movie. Same with zombie stuff. What they all have in common? I like being creeped out, highly entertained and occassionally scared. BUT I agree with one thing. I'll take a zombie over a vampire and werewolf any day. However, there is a fight in my soul if you are gonna compare apocalypse scenarios between zombies and aliens. Thats a tough call.

<3 Buffy.

Hello everybody!!! My name is Hector and I am from Oxnard, CA just about an hour north from Los Angeles. When I was about 8yrs old, I was allowed to see George Romero's, Night of The Living Dead on Holloween night, and the rest is history. Growing up in the 80's zombie movies really sucked, so my love for zombies was slowly fading away because of piss poor acting, storylines were weak, special effects sucked, and for the most part, did not follow the George Romero's rules of making zombie movies like all of the NOTLD knock off movies. Thank god!!! for the remakes of Night of The Living Dead and Dawn of The Dead and all the Zombie Diary movies. Can't wait for season 3 of The Walking Dead and WE'RE ALIVE rocks!!!!!

Hey Y'all!

I'm HillbillySUV and I've been a WA addict for about 8 months, and I don't want to be cured anytime soon. I never was into the whole Zombie genre but a friend of mine kept pestering me to give WA a listen. I'm glad he did. I have a few pet theories, one of which I already posted, but I'll catch up on the forum to make sure I'm not beating anyone's undead horse.

Welcome Hector! I take the good with the bad of zombie genre movies. Im an 80's girl so I know what you mean about some of it, but the 80's were slasher film filled so zombies did not rule at that time even though we loved them. Romero is the godfather of zombies! I too LOVE The Walking Dead and hate that we have to wait until next October. *sigh* Glad you're here and enjoy the podcast. Are you caught up?

Brian, from Missouri, started listening with Chapter 1 earlier this year (found the site by chance finding zombie stuff) I listen to the series in my car on the way to and from work. Although i keep my windows rolled up because I dont want people to think they are being shot at. Love the story and I figured Ink was the man in the suit after the first few chapters.

I live in Edmonton, Alberta in the great country of Canada. I like zombie stories/movies and cartoons. My current favorite zombie story is We're Alive and second is Night of the Living Dead. All zombie related stuff is judged against these two works.
My favorite cartoon is Archer so that will explain all you need to know about me and my humour.

I'm a machinist by trade but my work/education history gives me many other skills. I also like hunting, fishing, hockey, mma.

I also have a real good memory. For example you might ask what I ate this morning. Breakfast next question. :)

This along side Leviathain Chronicles were my 1st 2 podcasts that I had ever listened to. Started back about November 2010. So Needless to say All other podcasts of the audio drama variety just bore me to tears. None are half as good.

Blazed through season 1 and sadly now have to wait week by week. Love the show, keep up the great work everyone involved.

Ahoy everyone!

I'm a student in Kanata, Canada working towards my second BA at uOttawa.

I started listening to the podcast a couple of weeks ago when work got tedious, and was instantly hooked.
I've listened to everything twice through, I can't get enough!!

I think this is what drugs are like...

Anyway, I've only just discovered We're Not Dead so I'm working through those and that's how I 'discovered' this forum! :-)

I've heard only good things, and I hope to fit in nicely here.
If not, expect a strongly-worded letter to your parents.

Hi, my name is Derek. I live in Northern Ontario, Canada. I found out about We're Alive through word of mouth, and have been addicted since the first few minutes. I am a fan of all things Zombie. You name it, and I've probably watched it at least once, even all the bad ones, which sad to say far outnumber the good ones. I caught Night of the Living dead (the original) when I was way too young and have been fascinated by the genre ever since. My favourites up til now have been Walking Dead (comics over tv series), Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead (the 2004 remake), Resident Evil and Zombieland. Now I'd put We're Alive at the top of that list. I think the show is incredible. Great cast, excellent writing, and a nice fresh take on the genre. I don't know where its all going, but I'm in for the ride.

A little about me: Mild-Mannered Accountant by day, Bartender at night and writer of all things horror (including my first zombie novel being released tomorrow!)
I've recently started listening to the We're Not Dead Podcast as well, and that was the real motivation to check out the forums (I've never really been a forum type of guy).
I guess I leave it with that. Glad to be part of this community, and can't wait to really participate with all you fine individuals.

It really brings out your Inner zombie survivor, as I call it. Ash from the UK, just stumbled across Were Alive looking for a Podcast to listen too on my commute to work one morning, loved it from the start. Then over the last 3 weeks or so have listened to every cast to catch up! The finale of series 2 was fantastic.

Ever since i watched the original Dawn of the Dead far too young I've been a fan of the genre and as I've got older my plans for the day they come have become more detailed. So jealous of the Zombie scene in the US its much more fun.

Anyway everyone welcome to say to me and keep safe everyone! If in doubt just run!....

Soo, My name is Kendra. I'm in college. I actually found We're alive after listening to a bit from it on the Z-cast podcast. This is the first forum I think I've ever joined and actually participated in, because I am not a big forum person. I joined the forum because of We're not dead. I actually gravitated to zombies in the last few years because I learned pretty much as much as I could about Vampires and the lore and such and I just started to get interested in Zombies. I have a small zombie contingency plan, but its not very effective currently. I'm also a bit of a renaissance festival nerd. Also, I watch a lot of TV.

My name is Jesse, I currently reside in Louisville, Kentucky(I know most people have no idea where that is). I am a Graphic Designer and work on computers in my spare time for extra cash and currently work for a Car and Outdoor publication, and been doing that for going on 4 or so years now. When I'm not working I also enjoy going to the occasional horror film convention if I can afford to do so.:p
I also love We're Alive, it's exactly what the zombie genre needed(The Walking Dead included). Well that's all I have to say for now, hope to hear from the rest of you guys on here.[/B]

Hello all. I'm another Canadian fan. I've been listening to We're Alive since April or May 2010. I learned about it through my love of audio/radio drama.

I first started listening to radio shows around 2005, when I heard The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. That led me to discover the BBC iPlayer, and also a late-night OTR show on a local radio station. I listened to BBC comedy and drama, and OTR for the next few years. In early 2010 I discovered Decoder Ring Theatre, from sffaudio.com. DRT introduced me to audio drama podcasts, and led me to the audiodramatalk.com forum. I heard good things about WA there, and I decided to give it a try.

I have a pretty weak stomach when it comes to blood and gore in movies, so for me, audio is the perfect way to experience a zombie story. I can actually enjoy the suspense, and not feel ill.

YES! HHGTTG was an amazing series! One of the best adaptaions I've heard via OTR! You should try reading the zompocalypse as well! Welcome aboard, and repped for your 'first stop' outside of the intro thread!

Hi everyone !

I'm another fan from Canada. :-) I happened to stumble across "We're Alive" on iTunes. I was looking for something to fill the void after I finished watching the season 2 finale of The Walking Dead, and I had already caught up on all of its' related podcasts on iTunes. I listened to the podcasts on my daily 2 hour commute to & from work, and burned through the 29 chapters in around 2 weeks time, spending some extra time in the evenings, since I couldn't put the story down to rest for very long. Thanks so very much to KC and your crew for putting this story together and sharing it with all of us !!

I am *extremely* impressed with the story, production, actors, sound effects and anything else I might have missed about We're Alive ! It is a professional quality collection of work. Now, I'm getting caught up on all of the "We're Not Dead" podcast podcasts, and enjoying them equally.

Hello haha Well my name is Bradley Nelson and I am 21 years old. I currently live In Tulsa, Oklahoma. Though I don't really live anywhere (I lost my apt when Borders filled chapter 13 and I lost my Job) I had moved back In with my mom. I just got back from Asia where I spent aug. to Jan. living with my father. Now I'm just on a road trip out visiting family members and seeing the sights.

I've been into zombies since I watched the new dawn of the dead. Haha It was the first ever zombie movie I watched and I had watched It with my father. Scared the crap out of me so I watched it over and over until I had memorized all the lines. I then listened to the commentary and fell in love with it. It is now my favorite film! partly for the memorize with my father and partly because ITS AMAZING! haha. If you havnt listened to the commentary do so!

I had found we're alive sortly after season 2 had just started I believe or just before. I had just got my Iphone and was messing around with it I didn't even know what a podcast was until I stumbled into the area. I downloaded a few then looked through the zombie section and down loaded like 3 or 4. I was sitting at my friends house and we where all just talking so I listened to a few minutes of it and turned it off. I thought the format was cool as I used to listen to the old superman radio drama with my grandfather on an old radio station that would play it from time to time. I was hooked a few days after when I had picked it back up to listen. I burned through the first season pretty much all In one sitting and the one or two ep. of season 2. since then I haven't been able to follow it ep. by ep. because I keep moving to places that dont have internet like Abu Dhabi, and up in the mountains in arkansas. so I normally get to listen to a full season at a time and waiting for each episode of season 3 is killing me! haha. welp thats my story.

I am G, an Irish man living in America. My wife is American and we moved to the states for front row seats in time for the end of days in '99. Boy what a disappointment New Years was as we rang in 2000. Nothing happened. There had been so much hype it sounded like it could be fun. Ah well.

I have travelled a lot around Europe and somewhat around America for work. I have 7 kids, 6 boys and 1 girl. My boys are all Zombie aware and my daughter has tea parties with Zombies who appear to have eaten her grand parents. My eldest son is currently reading Max Brooks Zombie Survival Guide. Brings a tear to your eye really.

I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead (Comic & TV) think there has been some great writing in the comic and moments in the TV series where they must have brought on some new writers who in turn labotomized the main characters. We can chat about that later. Love the Romero movies, I mean who doesn't?? Right?

I was told about We're Alive by a really good friend and have been hooked ever since. Have to say it has gotten better as the characters have developed and think the best is yet to come somehow! Otherwise I am an open book, so say hi and ask away!

I decided to listen, gave it a go, and by the mid-point of Episode 2 was hooked, even though I DO NOT care much for zombie movies. I guess being theater of the mind, I can tone down the blood and gore. I caught up around Episode 17. Recently joined the forums.

Hello. I'm Sam from Texas. I'm studying to be an RN, and I like gardening, participating in charity walks, and collecting shot glasses from different places I visit.

I enjoy horror films, especially around Halloween, but I'm no expert. But, one time I had a 3 hour debate with a friend about the difference between the 'living dead' and the 'undead'. Soaps are my thing. Drama: the more, the better.

G'day. I'm from Sydney, Australia and are straight. I have listened to all episodes at least twice and a few more than that. I also really enjoyed The Leviathan Chronicles http://www.leviathanchronicles.com/index.php where somebody turned me onto We're Alive. Both have great production values and writing making me want to listen to more.
The first audio drama I listened to was Ruby: Galatic Gumshoe http://www.zbs.org/catalog/index.php?cPath=2_23 back in the late 80's or early 90's on cassette tape.
I'm a programmer/web developer (not designer) and have broad tastes in music, although I mainly like Trance, BritPop and Nerdcore HipHop.
Being a Geek or course I like SciFi, use Linux and occasionally board game, although I haven't roleplayed in over a decade.
I don't really like horror films, to many people doing stupid things makes me want to shout at them. I don't mind watching old films just for the silliness of them.

Hi, I'm the_highland_coo which is a pest to type so it's now shortened to Coo.

I like the horror genre but more the suspense/spooky side with a good story than the "blood and guts for the sake of it" side of it unless it's got a great story attached.

I listen to a lot of podcasts - they get me though the day, and I found W-A while looking for something else and thought I'd give it a go. Totally hooked (and spooked) from the first couple of episodes. Hey everyone, so I was inspired to introduce myself after visiting the meetup at Dave & Busters in nyc tonight. Had a great time, wish I could have stayed for longer. So yeah, I started listening in 2010 after seeing an ad on itunes. I put it down for a little while, but after hearing Podcast Beyond's Greg talk about it I got right back into the thick of it and never looked back. I'm a 24 y/o male social worker working in the city. I love pretty much all things zombie like, ever since I first saw 28 days later I've been hooked. I just like the idea of survival and taken to this sort of extreme just gets my imagination going into overdrive. I enjoy biking with no hands down an avenue a lot. And I'm currently reading Gantz, a kickass manga.

Oh and Kc if you're reading this, don't forget to watch Pontypool. And thanks Nick for coordinating the meet & greet. It was great.

I retired from the USAF after 21 years and 20 days, not that I was counting, and stayed here cause the place is actually pretty good to live in and I still have kids in high school. I came across this place one day sitting at work bored off my butt. I grabbed the ole Droid and googled "Zombie Podcast" and this place was on top. I started looking around the site and listening. I have been hooked ever since. Ya'll have a great story, I really like how you split from the Zombie genre norm and went in a completely different direction. Now if ya'll could get a producer to pick up the show and put on the tv life would be complete! LOL.

Hi, Names Ken Brown. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago. I severed in the U.S. Navy for 4 years in the early 90's to the mid 90's. (GO NAVY). I am a freelance videographer. As a teen, I was into old black and white movies. You know the ones that came on ABC. The last movie before the station went off the air for the night lol. ( we did not have cable). Soon after I got into radio dramas, and would listen to one when ever my radio decided to pick up the AM station. I am a big fan of audio drama, it shows the creativity of the creator and the listener.
This past March I was in the App store looking for some Walking Dead stuff. I started looking at some of the other zombie cast, saw you guys. Down loaded EP1 and the rest is history.

Hi, I'm Kirstie. I'm from South Dakota am currently in college to become an electrical engineer. I (obviously) listen to We're Alive and almost all of the Howstuffworks.com podcasts and the Bugle (fuck you Chris!) and I enjoy reading (a lot). I discovered We're Alive after searching for a new podcast on iTunes. I (for some reason) always need a ridiculous number of podcasts in my iTunes at all times and that was why I was looking.

Welcome Kirstie from SD. The Tower needs an electrical engineer so we can off Datu! ;-) That's gonna catch some shit from sympathizers, but whatevs!
Anyway, enjoy your stay and Andy Zaltzman is one ugly dude compared to Chris. LOL

Hi all,

I'm a 20-something grad student- yay research! I enjoy certain uncommon sports and gardening (but not dropping flowerpots!) when I'm not at a computer analyzing data.

I don't enjoy zombie movies, as I'm far too jumpy for most of them, but I love the podcast! I've been a lurker for a while, and finally found something to add to the discussion. I was directed to this thread to introduce myself, so here I am. Thanks for all of the welcomes!

BOOM! KA-POW (and other visual sound effects)

Hi all, I'm Garth.

I'm 31, live on the South Coast UK. This forum is amazing (now I have We're Not Dead and here to see me through the cold, lonely nights whilst I await the release of the next We're Alive instalment :)

I'm not sure if it's a normal progression, but I found out about WA from my AirSoft forum.
(Is it a natural progression from a Zombie lover to Airsoft or visa-vera?)
Either way I have always loved the Zombie thing from a real young age. I've always been a hugh horror fan since I can remember. Watched 976 Evil, Pet Cemetery and Dawn of the Dead when I was real young and I LOVE that feeling of being scared. Not many films have the knack and even fewer books and audio dramas come close to getting your heart racing and nail biting.

Absolutely loving WA and being part of the WA community is massive thing for me, so thanks to you all.
Love everything about WA (even Datoo's accent), laughing out loud at the humour, the suspense, the originality, the creepy f**king sound effects. Even came close to shedding a tear at one point!

Looking forward to a long and delightful residence here, and hope to add a little of my own objectivity to spark off some debates.

Toodles, Garth

hey I found this site by looking for season 3 of We're Alive. I'm currently on Chapter 21 of Season 2 and noticed it was almost done. I started to panic to say the least, I've been hooked on this. Needed something to scratch my Walking Dead itch until Season 3 came out and came across the We're Alive podcast. Wow this is freaking great!!! I rekindled my love for audiobooks after I listened to World War Z and man I'm zombie'd out right about now. lol great forum and look forward to posting, though won't be right off the back because I can't handle the spoilers since everyone is already onto season 3. I've gotta catch up 1st

Well, Brunt, you might not want to catch up too quickly. Try pacing yourself. I think the wait for new episodes is harder to get used to, the more episodes you storm through in your first listen. I only had to catch up on the first season, when I started listening. Also, I was already a big radio/audio fan, so I had a lot of other shows, to distract me from the wait for Season 2.

That said, I do look forward to hearing more from you when you have caught up.

Well, hi, I'm Nedjema. I live in southern California, in Riverside county, am 24, and am a crossing guard. I'm probably screwed in the case of an actual zombie apocalypse, since I work outside on a street, but at least I'll have my stop sign that I can use as either a shield or a weapon. I really enjoy the horror genre, and zombies in particular, so We're Alive really appeals to me. I started listening to we're alive probalby a few weeks to a month ago, caught up about a couple weeks ago, but wanted to catch up to all of the we're not dead episodes first before I joined the forums. So now here I am.

Ok...well, The One with the Markings said to intro myself...so to keep him away for a bit, I will give it a try. I'm not someone who generally joins forums.

My name is Jay and my husband initially listened to WA oh maybe 2-3 weeks ago...he normally likes listening to something with his ear buds on while he falls asleep...I prefer quiet. But I kept hearing these faint gunshots and screams from the other pillow and one night asked: "Dude, I'm trying to go to sleep! What the hell are you listening to?" He popped one of the buds in my ear and I think it was one of the episodes from Chapter 2. I thought it was kinda cool, kinda thought it was like what the old time radio programs must have sounded like.

Well, I every once-in-a-while would listen with my hubby again just before closing my eyes. He was listening to it more often so by last week, he was up to chapter 8 and I only listened sporadically so I was missing a lot. Well, I had to fly to Chicago last Thursday for business and then flew to meet him Friday night in Oklahoma to visit his family until the 4th. While waiting for the plane to Chicago, I ended up downloading the first 10 chapters. Waiting for the plane to OK i downloaded the next 10. And waiting for the plane back to San Francisco, I downloaded the last 11 chapters. Between the flights and listening at night (by myself, my hubby is still somewhere around chapter 10...he stopped listening before bed because the story amps him up too much for sleep), I've been able to get to chapter 27. I should be all caught up by tomorrow.

I wanna say things about the story and the characters but I guess it would be a spoiler in the intro section...so if I get time later, I will try to post. Usually don't get much time though.

Hello All,

I arrived here at the Tower by accident took a left turn from the right coast ... LoL Anyhow. I found the pod cast from a another website I visit which shall not be named as I am not sure the moderators here would appreciate it though, it has nothing in common with this one. I down loaded all the pod casts and started listening about chapter 15 I did a 10 dollar donation as it was pretty entertaining and thats what I would pay for a good book. I figured with all the work these guys are doing that was the least I could do. I like the genre of I guess horror though it could be listed as drama, sci fi etc etc etc the way the story goes it fits alot of catergories. The format reminds me of Old radio shows like Radio Mystery Theater when I was a youngster. Thus far, the show has been pretty spot on with alot of things military and such. Though, I do find it hard to believe not one person owns or found a pair of binoculars; every time I heard I can't see it's to far or what is that over there I was like really?? Since I can't pull something like this off I will let it slide :} . Anyhow hello from the Mid Atlantic Region which at the moment is doing it's best to feel like the box temp wise.

Since Ink told me to introduce myself, who am I to disobey...

Hello Tower members, Mallers, and Zomb..er...Monste....um Creatures alike! :-)

I first discovered this gem of an audio drama by accident. I was searching around a certain music store (its homophone is eye toons, hehe) for something to listen to while I was working, preferably an audio book or something similar. I came across the main page and was intrigued by the title and the artwork. A bit of a scroll down showed me a lot of listeners exclaiming how great it was, and so I decided to give it a try. It was at Chapter 7 so I downloaded them all and immediately became enamored. I've been listening ever since. In between Chapters (okay, that's a bit of an understatement, more like every day) I try to get everyone I know to listen and get into it too. Happy to say I've infected quite a bit of my friends. :-) Anyhoo, happy to finally come out of de-lurking and share my love of We're Alive!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Tracy, I currently reside in Versailles, Kentucky just outside of Lexington. I work in the OR in a hospital and have a degree in IT. I love video editing on my macbook and enjoy building and tweaking PCs. I am currently the IT support guy for all my friends. I don't charge that much because these are hard times and I mostly help for free. In my free time I love playing video games on my systems such as PS3, Wii or PC. I like anime, not all but most. My favorite genre in movies are action, martial arts, and zombie horror in that order but reversed. I don't watch TV that much but prefer movies. I find that television shows today are boring and really bland...no thinking needed.
So how did I get here? Well, I work night shift and most of the time I have my earbud in my ear trying to pass the time away. I decided to check out some audiobooks. I looked on amazon and iTunes for some good listening material. I checked out all 3 of The Hunger Games then Plague of the Dead. I went on to The Undead Situation and then The Walking Dead Rise of the Governor and was hooked.
I started looking for more books to try, zombie related of course and landed with World War Z. That audiobook continued to suck me in deeper into the zombie world. After that I checked for more reading material because I just couldn't get enough and bam I read a comment on a forum somewhere on the internet about Were Alive. I decided to give it a try. I stopped after the second chapter. For some reason I could not get into it. About a week later I decided to give it another go. I loaded up 43 chapters on my iPhone and off to work I went. I cannot believe what I was missing. This is how television, story time should be. Narration, sound effects, storyline, bad guys, shoot outs, monsters, suspense, its all in there! I have not looked back, I am hooked! I have however tried to find similar podcasts but have yet to find anything like this. I think this is better than The Walking Dead television show by a long shot but its still a show that I watch. I would like to thank everyone involved in making this podcast and I will tell everyone I know about it. You guys have provided me with a new outlook on audio story telling and to me its at its FINEST!

Well, thats all, sorry for such a long post.

One more thing, could you guys not kill Burt he is one Bad A@s character.

I don't think that I've done this yet, so: Hi, I'm Sam... And I'm not very good at introductions (which is probably why I initially skipped this). I live in Santa Barbara, California; I'm in college studying English. I read quite a bit, write, play bass, watch films, etc.. I'm a sucker for zombie apocalypse/plain apocalypse stories, because they prove to be so character centric most of the time. We're Alive is, in my opinion, one of the best examples of that. Anyway, there's a small bit about myself.

I just recently started listening to the podcast and have been promoting it like crazy! I love it, the feel of the classic radio drama, I'm a sound junkie/techie (I used to be in theatre. . . technically I still am, I'm currently doing sound for a play), so listening to this is just awesome. I am eating it up like tapioca!:excited: Can't wait for more.

Oh, yeah, found the podcast going through the Zune marketplace a couple of months ago, but only started listening about a week ago. Totally addicted now, though. Hope you're happy.

Nope, I'm not. I just have a love for the Finnish language (though I can't speak it). I listen to a lot of music that has Finnish lyrics, and whatnot. Frozen wasteland prison? I want to disagree with you, but since you actually live there and I've never even been, I cannot. Finland is on my top list of countries to visit though; I love the idea of having forests and lakes at every turn, and cold beautiful winters with early nights. Hopefully someday I can break out of this hot, perpetually sunny, seasonless prison called Santa Barbara, and travel across Europe.

Enjoy it while you can. My approval is very much fleeting in nature. Ask anyone.

I'll take your word for it. Suppose I'll simply have to enjoy it while it lasts then.

hiya - I found the podcasts whilst messing about on my new phone and then I googled zombie podcast and here I am! I'm only just through listening to series 1 and I rushed through that to be honest so I need to revisit that but I want to catch up to the current eps and then go back and listen to them all again! Hell-o :)

Welcome to the forum. I would advice you to sloooow down. I regret marathoning the series at the start because suddenly you transition from an overload of awesome to being drip fed week by week.

My names Marc and I purchased a ticket the 07/26 show.

I've been listening to We're Alive since chapter 8. It quickly became on of my favorite podcasts. Since that time I've looked forward to every Monday's download, expect for those times where we all have to wait an extra week or two new episodes. Torture.....

This is my first time posting in the forums. You'll have to forgive me, but I usually try to steer clear of forums for two reasons. My literary skills are not very good and at times may seem as though an 8 year old is posting on my behalf. Second, forums scare me. But I thought I would take a chance with this one and simply say, Hello.

I'm very much looking forward to 07/26. I'm located in Ventura CA and plan on leaving work early to catch the pre-show. I purchased a VIP ticket, not necessary to get a back stage pass or a seat in the front row, but to simply show my support. Like I said, We're Alive is one of my favorite podcasts.

See you all then...

Hi everyone,

Liam Kerrington ... Well, this is not my real name, but a pseudonym I created for one of my favorite Call of Cthulhu: Delta Green characters. Because of "Liam" I am a member of a "L-team" ... But does this matter?
In real life people call me "Clem", which is my first name. I am from Germany, about mid-thirties and right in the middle of preparations for my final exams. With some luck I may become kind of a "Kelly"-dude ... ;) But hopefully not such a crazy mad-lawyer ...
I live near Hanover, in a nice region with rolling hills.
In my sparetime I do things like roleplaying games or boardgames, ride my motorbike ( an NTV 650 from Honda, kind of bread and butter bike) and enjoy different fandom-stuff ... Like for instance core-Zombie-topics and basic Hard-SciFi along real space-travel- topics ...

What else is there to say? Maybe that I lost too much time looking for what I should do for a living ... I spent some time in politics and cultural engagements; but I happened to notice that both things are kind of ... too ... crazy - at least while living here in Krautland. ;)

Anyway: Glad that I was pointed to this podcast/ Zombie-show.

Wish you well, and stay alive!
All the best!

Hi All

Went to the live performance yesterday (7-27-12), and decided to join the forum everyone was talking about. The live show was incredible, and it was a pleasure to meet everyone. Now about me....

I hate talking about myself though so here's the short story. I went to film school to learn about production, but ended up here and ended up working in post production. I currently live in North Hollywood, and love it here....mostly because I'm originally from Kansas and the weather is a bit more predictable here. Other than zombies, I like science fiction, comic books, rpgs (role playing games not the weapon) , and a whole lot of writing.

Rather than bore you with more details about myself, I'll end it here and just enjoy forum.

Hi Everyone,
I'm Aaron and I live just outside of Orlando,FL. I found We're Alive at the beginning of July and finished all of the chapters before the final part of Chapter 31 was realized (less than 2 weeks). It's a great story and I'll be attempting to infect others.

It's really tough going from consuming as "much as I can listen to" to "wait for next week or two weeks". In the meantime I've been consuming We're Not Dead and re-listening to older chapters.

Hi Aaron,

Welcome to the WA-community.
About less then two weeks ago I learned about the show. And yesterday I finally finished listening to all the chapters and episodes so far. So I am in the same situation like you: It is kind of a U-turn coming from "listening as much as possible" and turning towards "paying a lot attention to the virtue of patience". Especially the rollercoaster-rides through chapters #27 and #31 blasted me away and left me kind of blood-thirsty for what will happen next ...

All the best!

Hello! My pseudonym is Faith (I would give my real name, but if the internet speaks the truth, I'm the only person in the world who spells it that way. And unfortunately, I work in an industry where I can lose my job if my personal views are linked to my name). I'm from Virginia, and I have an assortment of job titles here and there. During the day, I work in Higher Ed, but I dabble around in photography, video production and viticulture in my free time. When I was 13, I actively participated in Digimon forums (don't judge), but haven't really delved into any online communities since. When I discovered WA last weekend, I powered through to the latest episode by Monday. I tried to get my husband into WA so that I could discuss it with him. However, he's taking his sweet time by only listening to one episode per day, so here I am.

Hi guys, I'm Tatyana, next week I'll be 25 years old. I live in Brazil and work as a book designer for a relatively big publisher here. Usually my work require some mindless activities with the softwares we use, so it's a perfect set for me to listen to music and podcasts.

Thanks to Greg Miller (BEYOND!), I found out about We're Alive at Up At Noon and... really, I wasn't sure about it. Mainly because zombies were never my thing. You know, Resident Evil creeped me out as a kid and I was much more of a thriller and fantasy kind of girl, horror movies tended to impress me even as a teenager. But YAY for me to actually download We're Alive, 'cause, man I was hooked from episode 1.

After listening to 30 chapters of We're Aliveand 20-something episodes of We're Not Dead in these last few days , I'm here.

I'm a gamer, a RPG player and a bookworm. Nice to meet everyone!

Nice having you around. And the striking WA podcast is something you hardly can leave, when you start listening to it. WA +1

What RPGs do you play? And what's your focus regarding books?
Have been a D&D and CoC gamer for a long time; recently I have started to explore Isaac Asimov and Andreas Eschenbach, both authors in SciFi.

Thanks for the welcome, Liam! :D

I go from D&D and Pathfinder to oWoD, nWoD, anything in-between obscure and indie I'm up for (I have a very large PDF library in my PC at home). Active, I have a few tables right now: a GURPs (3rd edition) in a medieval low fantasy setting, a D&D 3.5 group and a Pathfinder one, both medieval fantasy. At the internet I play with close friends, mainly we use the storytelling/teller system to focus on... well, the storytelling aspect of the games. In those cases we tend to work on urban fantasy scenarios (outside the World of Darkness).

After WA, tho', I'm nagging my friends to play a survivor-kind-of game.

Regarding books, I stick with fantasy (urban, medieval, low, high, whatever), sci-fi and historical fiction, but I'm not strict with it and if someone tells me about something worth checking out, I will.

Hello I'm Konrad, currently living in Leicestershire right in the midlands Great Britain - but grew up near Reading about 35 miles from London. I'm in my thirties and work as a magistrates' court legal adviser. I am mildly geeky in a typical sci-fi/horror/PC/gaming way but way too old for it to take up much of my time! We're alive is fantastic - I'm a great fan of a more character driven, long term, sci-fi story than film (and most TV) can supply. Radio has the best pictures too!

Hi Ohllee and Konrad,

welcome to the great show of WA. Am Glad that you love (Ohllee) or - based on your mild geekdom - enjoy (Konrad) the show.
If you wish to get more involved with it, I sincerely recommend listening to the fan-made show hosted by Brit Brombacharacharacha and heavily supported by nikvoodoo, which is known as "We're Not Dead"; you will find more information about it on the We'Re Not Dead section on this forum.

All the best!
Liam

Well I’ve been a soldier for over 25 years. I have been over to the Middle East twice in my life. There are several things I always carry on my body. 3 knives 2 flashlights, a lighter, parachute cord, hundred mile an hour tape and a compass. I live in a state where I can carry a concealed hand gun and I do. ( you just never know when the zombies are coming) I am a guy. I like girls and hate zombies.

edit: What is an "hundred mile an hour tape"???

drillsgt
Aug 17th, 2012, 11:24 AM
hundred mile an hour tape is a slang army term for duct tape, the tape comes in meny colars. green, tan, black, ACU. i put a 1 by 24 inch long strip on my flash light. in my ruck sack i carry a whole roll. the tape is good for first aide, quic fixxes on gear, taping gear down so it doesnt make noise ,taping id tages together so they dont clink. binding bad guys, or pulling lint and cat hairs off uniforms. some guys use electric tape but thats realy only good for things that go boom. hope that helps

Greetings from Singapore... especially to all the Saul + Lizzy fans :)

I've been addicted to "We're Alive" ever since I've heard about it from Greg Miller's episode at "Up At Noon" where he interviewed Kc.
Yup... I'm one of those fans who was hooked to We're Alive by Greg Miller.
And yup... I'm a relatively new fan who plowed through Seasons 1, then 2 and the first episodes of Season 3 in a few days and also experienced what I often hear as a sort of withdrawal period from having to wait for the next episode...
So to continue getting my "We're Alive" fix, I subscribed to Kc's youtube channel and plowed through them all (especially enjoyed the 1st Live Reading... hoping to see the July event as well)
Still feeling unsatisfied, I also subscribed to the "We're Not Dead" podcast and have almost plowed through them all (I'm now at Episode 41 for We're Alive Chapter 31)
And so before I start going through the "We're Alive" withdrawal phase again as I wait for Chapter 33... I thought I'd get my "We're Alive" fix from the forums...
So... here I am... :)

Hello and welcome jimnemesis,

you so much tell the story I went through a few weeks ago. I would to recommend you one strategy: Listen to WA at least a second time. Although you already know what is going on, you will detect so many small details. The world is so rich of small and big thinks, for me it is amazing to learn so much more about WA by listening to it a second time. At the moment I am at episode 14 on my second walk-through.

Enjoy and all the best!

Hi this is DuffusMonkey, I am also know as Duffus (pronounced Doofus) , Fred PissMeyer or you can call me by my real name John.

I have been listening to We're Alive Since the start of season 2. I did a marathon session of we're alive and listened to most of the first season over a weekend.

I heard about We're Alive from a World of Warcraft podcast. I can't remember which one but Nik Voodoo sounds a lot like a guest host on one of the ego network podcasts I used to listen too. I hate waiting for the next episodes so much that I waited until the entire second season was almost over before downloading them all and doing another marathon listening session. BUT I was too hooked to stop so ever since I have been listening to every episode the minute it comes out.

I started listening to We're not dead when it first came out but I quit because of the sound quality (Rock Band Mic ???) I am a podcast addict and I am spoiled by good quality sound so much that I bought a nice Condenser mic just so I sound better when I record calls for podcasts. I am even planning on starting my own podcast about hobbies. I plan on focusing on people who turn their hobbies into businesses or just have obsessive compulsive behavior about their hobbies. I am in awe of people who are WAY WAY to obsessed with their hobbies but I am finding it really easy to find people like this:) My obsessive desire for more "We're Alive" lead me to try "We're Not Dead again". It was a miracle! sound quality fixed I could enjoy the podcast. The details mentioned on We're not Dead that I had missed allow me to enjoy re-listening to old episodes of We're Alive. After only a week I am up to episode 34 of We're not dead right now.

I signed up for the forums just because once I am up to date on episodes of We're not dead and I don't know how I will be able to wait a week or 2 for new episodes.... and if the next episode is only 15 minutes long I may have to start binge drinking and that is not good for anyone.

P.S. Any World of Warcraft players on the forum? The podcast community is what really got me addicted to the game. Podcaster's tend to interact with fans a lot and it makes the medium so intimate that I feel guilty if I miss a podcast.

Thanks again for the great show!

Hi, I'm Tara, I'm 28 and I'm currently in Albuquerque, NM. I'm a brat of a military brat, but I was born and raised here. I married my high school sweetheart, and we have a soon to be 4 year old little girl. I'm not a gamer, I actually prefer working with my hands. I knit, crochet and cross stitch. From everyone I've seen on here I'm the total opposite of them.
A few facts about me and New Mexico:
-Even though everyone takes United States Geography in elementary school some people think New Mexico is still part of Mexico and will tell us they can't ship out of the country...
-The state flower is basically a shrub that reproduces faster than weeds.
-I spent most of my childhood with my grandfather who disliked children and teenagers.
-I am 5'1" and can see clear over my mothers head without shoes on.
-The International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is held here, and last year broke the world record for most balloons lifting off in one mass assention.
-if there was a zombie apocalypse I would be able to point you in the direction of a few warehouses full of medical products... I work for a medical disrabution company...

Otherwise I'm pretty boring, I listen to podcasts at work so I can concentrate. It can get WAY too quiet where I work.

Hi Lilydragon.

New Mexico? Isn't this a restaurant in the Hotel 'Medusa' on an island in the Bodensee in Germany? *shrugs*

Anyway: Nice to have you around. And I agree with you: Podcasts or audio-books are a good means to concentrate - except for the very exciting moments though ... ;)
Thank you for showing the survivors where the medical stuff is.

All the best!

Well I'm Chris, living near Durham in England. Recently happened upon WA when flicking through ITunes, been hooked ever since. Not a massive amount to say about myself, 32 have a partner, Claire and a beautiful daughter Harriet who's just about to turn one. Originally from Scotland but lived down in England for nearly 25 years now, never accuse me of being native though!

Unlike some I've come to WA much later in the game but think that's been to my advantage as have not had to wait around as much for new episodes, totally up to speed now and loved every second! Now currently re-listening form season 1 again till the next chapter.

So this is my little hello to everyone, have fun😊

My name is Eric and I live just outside St. Louis MO. Some friends at work told me about this show. I must say that it is awesome!. It's great to see that there are still people out there with imagination and creativity. I listened to every episode in about a week. Now I'm stuck waiting for new episodes like everyone else. So, in the meantime I've started listening again. It's crazy how much you pick up on the second time through. I watched the interview with the cast that was posted on the Facebook page and was disappointed to find out that there was only one season left. Someone asked about a movie and KC said he was down but this would be so much better as a seasonal show. There is no way you could do this work justice with a single film. Thanks for all the effort and great work!

Hi paranoyd,

welcome to the WA-community. And I agree with you: listening to the show another time and then another time and so on and on reveals ever more details ... The script is incredible; and Kc as well as the cast do an incredible job!

Hello Listeners!

My name is Adam. I'm 27 and I'm from Sheffield in the United Kingdom. I found We're Alive about a week ago (well.. More like, informed of it's existence from a friend), and being a lover of all things Zombie, I decided to check it out. I've spent the past 3 days listening to the episodes back to back so i could catch up and i must say, I'm extremely impressed! I was hooked from the very first episode and look forward to the rest :).

A little more about me; I'm currently in the process of writing some short stories and full length novels that take place during the same time as the podcast. I'm not pursuing any form of publication for these novels for trademark/copyright reasons. I'll be more than happy to share them on here when they are finished for anyone to read at their own leisure. It was nice to read some of your introductions and meet you (so to speak).

Hi DeadPixel,

welcome to the forum and WA-fandom! The general topic "zombie" is interesting - not only because of its many facettes, but also because of the different questions it raises, especially the ones regarding a zombie-apocalypse. Looking forward to your writings!

Great way to work, made my days go by so fast....alas I am now caught up and have to suffer the week in between with everyone else. Thankfully I also found We're not Dead, which I am now listening to from the beginning. It has been quite fun to listen to thier theories when I already know what has happened!!!! I can not belive my luck finding such a great podcast by accident. I have told almost everyone I know about it, and my husband just started the series. Thank you all so much for a great product!!! I will now be super prepared if the zombie apocolypse ever comes to suburbia Coloado!!!!

Hellohellohello!
A TV show would be great; a movie might lack in quality and substance, unless you go to a tripple-tripple feature, like WA Episode 1 to 9; would probably take as long to be produced like Star Wars ... ;)
