I know this is just a theory, but Burt said that the person that broke into the store knew what they were doing with the safe to get in. Consider John's more common alias... "Latch". They found the Maulers/Mallers, with the guns. Scratch obviously got her nickname from the scar on her face, but the story has not yet (as of 19.1) described how Latch got his nickname.

I thought this was essentially assumed as Latch/Scratch were confirmed to have Burt's weapons.

I was more dealing with the Lock picking expert being "Latch", and at one time I thought he could have been the one to break into the tower.

Yes, already confirmed that the Mallers broke into it. They also got into the res station for their weapons.

That is currently speculation. We do not not for certain that the Mallers raided the army base for weapons. Is it likely, yes. But still an unconfirmed rumor right now.

True, and most likely you are correct but up until 2 chapters ago we didn't know about The Colony either. Perhaps there's another group running around L.A. we currently don't know about. If Michael had been in that Water Tower with Skittles, I bet he would have known enough to ask about the Bad People and who they were, and see if perhaps there was another group of people out and about in the world besides the Mallers.

I'm gonna stick with my "Speculation" and save my I Told You So. LOL. Yes, Skittles did mention the bad people, but i'd already theorized that they were the ones who broke in due to the numbers the mallers have and the fact that Scratch didn't have ammo for the gun they got from Burt's shop. They had plenty of weapons and ammo by the "War" episode.
I also remember saying so on FB and KC deleting my "Spoiler" and telling me to get on the forum...
So, imma sit my speculating ass over here on the sofa and drink a Mojito!

It actually was never confirmed that the maulers/mallers broke into the tower. But that was my theory as well. (At least for a while)
